Mr. ProgFreak:

Don't think that's so strange. I read a while ago, either on the Porcupine Tree website or on Opeth's but Steven, Mikael and Mike (at the time I read it.) were already in the formative stages of composing material for possible release "at some future date". Could be interesting.

This has been discussed in this very forum, and Portnoy's involvment seems to have been already denied. It would be great though that now that Portnoy is out of DT he would end up joining that project... and if somehow Kevin Moore and Tony Levin would also end up joining, well that would be really fantastic.

Here's a new Portnoy supergroup that I've cooked up:

Colonel Claypool's Banton Portnoy Project (CCBPP)

Les Claypool - Vocals
Hugh Banton - Organ/Bass Pedals
Mike Portnoy - Drums/Backing Vocals

Mike Portnoy would be smoking money at Bonaroo by next year, I guarantee it.

Ted Kirkpatrick might make a good replacement for Portnoy. Check him out on youtube.

Actually, i am thinking about Sean Reinert... He definitely has plenty experiences in Prog Metal...

But im also imagining that Yoshida Tatsuya would join DT (although it was quite impossible)...

Did anyone suggest Animal yet? Which one of the Chipmunks played drums? Was it Theodore? Tongue

Supposedly, DT are auditioning 7 drummers, and the gig will most likely go to one of them.  Can't wait to see who auditions. Smile

I would normally say Danny Carey but then he would have to leave my beloved Tool and DT couldn't handle Carey's awesomeness anyways.TongueWink

It would be awesome if by auditioning 7 drummers, they meant they were actually auditioning for 7 drummers.

Mike Portnoy in disguise is reminding me of the Simpsons barbershop quartet episode when Wiggum tries to get back into the group. LOL
