Notice: There are included The Golden Era members only. I don´t believe, with deep reverence of them, that anybody will vote for  Kenney Jones or Doug Sandom.

Keith Moon was simply Mr. Drummer and Grand Old Man concededly.

And what about another members of one of most influential rock bands of 60´s and 70´s years of 20th century? I can´t try to guess who´s the most favourite of them.

Pete Townshend, incredible guitarist, keyboardist, vocalist, composer,  "Brain of the Band", creator of "Windmill style" of guitar playng?

Roger Daltrey, frontman, excellent lead vocalist, composer, another madman on stage?

John Entwistle, one and only quiet point on the stage, one of the best bass guitarist of the world, genuine creator of Rock bass sound and the Great Guru of his instrument?

Pete's the main man in every way, but Keith was literally my idol for the majority of my life. Still is, in a way.

This is definitely one of those bands where the sum of the parts is greater than the whole. While I can't imagine anyone not recognizing Townsend as one of the 20th century's great songwriters or of Keith Moon as one of the greatest drummers, I have to say that the Quiet one, the Ox, the late great John Entwistle is was my favourite.
Thank you for supporting independently produced music

Keith Moon gets my vote. But the 4 of them fully deserve it.

Loved them all, and I'm surprised poor old Roger only has two votesCry

This is one of those bands where the sum was greater than the individual parts. Townsend wrote virtually all of the material, but, as he admits himself, could never have translated much of it without Daltrey's vocals. And as for that rhythm section - the best.

For those reasons, I can't really vote.

Started out on Drums many years ago. In a way, Keith taught me how to play.

Gotta be Moonie!

When I was in my early teens, Roger was THE man....then I picked up his Ride a Rock Horse LP - when he started writing with Leo Sayer it really stripped away that razor tough street punk attitude.  I never heard the Who the same way again.  Roger just became an overblown mouth piece for Pete's writing.  I much prefer the Pete sung demos of all the 70s classics that Roger ran roughshod over.  No subtlety whatsoever....and Pete's songs, though often loud and bombastic, really are subtle pieces.

To me, Pete really is THE man, not just in the Who but in any rock band.  The guy really wrote rock anthems....things that stick with you your entire life.
I like to feel the suspense when you're certain you know I am there.....

Pete Townsend but special mention must go to to Keith Moon. What happened to Rock and Roll stars destroying hotel rooms and of course drum kits?  ( guitars too) Its not the same anymore Smile

My username says it all. Though Daltrey's vocals have always been a favorite of mine.

He "copied" it from Keith Richards, though Keith didn't even realise he was doing it, so yeah, Pete was the first to use it.
