I've always thought of Empyrium's Weiland or Tenhi as heavy folk.

Is this conversation to do with the Prog Metal Team by any chance?

It was an interesting case though, I found the PF team's accept a bit surprising (especially since they reject anything that has even the smallest amount of metal into it). The band's shift between rock and metal in the same minute is one of their most interesting aspects, for me at least. So yeah, not everything related to styles is uninteresting (I am not aiming at you with this).

No, it's about a band from a certain genre whose main representative once won the most famous metal award in front of the band who had "metal" in their name LOL

I know, I know. Like I said, huzzah! for them being accepted. Interesting  this preferences of the PF team... So had they not been accepted for PF, where would they have been sent to? Metal? :P

Heavy Prog would be where I'd start as well.

2011 has new Rush, new Radiohead, 2 new Devy albums, new Pain of Salvation, new Jean Louis (hopefully), and probably some other stuff I'm forgetting.

Penn State likes to be energy efficient, so today when it's 70+ degrees outside, what happens?  The heater turns on full blast. LOL

Maybe we'll get a new Yoshida-related album too.  I'd be happy.  I know he's touring again with Koenjihyakkei soon, maybe we'll get their fifth. Big smile
