Ha cute Anton...I remember a time when the NFC East sent 3 teams to the playoffs (3 of the 6) and all teams in the division were 8-8

Even the bad teams (usually alternating between the Redskins and Eagles) of the NFC East played tough defense.
We know Anton...it's not the Steelers so they suck ass....

They are a consistently overrated division because they contain Dallas and one of the NY teams.  They aren't any tougher or more special than the NFC west.

Well can't disagree with Dallas....
Though they always burn...when they have the streaks where things ARE in order they can be tough on defense, but more so on offense.

And that NY thing is just bias against the city? I know, its big ol fancy New York and not good ol American blue collar Pittsburgh so they must be over rated right? Wink
Its whatever... but dude no tougher then NFC West? I think you know that's not the case.
Again, sorry it's not the Steelers.

That being said, Giants DO need to right their ship now. They have players too good to be like this. Coaching staff needs to do something to get things in order.
The media is already spelling doom for Coughlin and calling for a descent into chaos...that's a bit soon but it's not unreasonable if the team is not whipped into shape.

Well, I'm a Yankees fan so, not only don't I have any anti-NY bias, I can recognize that the sports media is NYcentric.  And I honestly don't believe the NFC east to be more impressive or scary than the NFC west over the last decade.  They've both had Super Bowl representatives and they've both had "powerhouse" teams fizzle out in the post season, as well.  The only thing the east can hang it's hat on over the last decade was a magical Giants run.

Well yeah, do hate to break it to ya but as the largest market out there... it will naturally attract an unfair share of media attention. Capitalism. Wink

Over the last decade? Naw but there were a few good years.
And it may have been magical...but I am so sick of people calling it a fluke. Never knew a fluke involved 4 wins, 3 on the road, and shutting down the best offense ever. But I digress

Anyway besides the Sunday night I'll be at... looking forward to the Pitt/Bal game and hoping the Phins can beat the Pats!

Bump for the power and the glory of the NY Giants

Apparently  they're adding some people into the Ring of Honor today.
Some old Giants will be there at half time today, Gifford, Parcells, hopefully Phil Simms and Tiki. Me and dad can't decided if he'll be booed or not.

Tiki broke my heart Angry but all in the past now. He was one damn good back.

Now THAT was a game.
10 sacks (9 in the first half!) 2 picks, 3 forced fumbles and they knocked 2 QBs out of the gameLOL
Matt Forte was totally shut down (26 yards on 12 carries)
Even before Cutler went down he was unimpressive. The Giants coverage was great and he couldn't make his 60 yard pass attempts. Covered all those weapons the Bears have.

The offense was way too conservative, especially given the magnitude of the game, so many poor runs and dinky passes. But when Eli did open up a bit he was good, and it opened up the run game a lot.
Few penalties and no stupid ones.
Good game, and just what the Giants needed.
Next week will be the biggest challenge yet at Houston.

As for the rest of the day.
Jets kill Bills (real shocker LOL)
Browns top the Bungles Shocked
Ravens beat Steelers (but hell 3-1 without Ben?)

The Pack barely beats the Lions
Jags beat Indy Smile
Rams win Smile
And VICK IS OUT!

Hell of a good football day

Oh, the Giants ring of Honor was nice.

Cool to see LT and Phil Simms in the flesh.
Also Tiki was booed something fierce....
To think how beloved he was...ah well, that's what the traitor gets.

LOL. This is the third time we've had this convo. I've been a Rams fan for over 10 years and a Yankees fan for even longer.

I'm also a Utah Jazz (Cry) fan.

Forgive me.
The Yanks I knew of course.
Not sure why I've liked the Rams. I guess its from when I was very young and I remember the Super Bowls
Good man you are.

Also damn, that Giants defense was inhuman today!

Nice to see the Ravens finally get a win in Pittsburgh.

The offensive weapons we aquired need to be utilized a little more though,Boldin and Housh are already starting to gripe about not getting the ball thrown their way enough.

I'd start to gripe a bit, (or at least want to)
Flacco is one of the hot young QB's and he's Boldin...Don't follow the Ravens closely but I'm a bit surprised at the lack of extreme offenseLOL
