A modern progressive band. That isn't metal. Like real progressive rock, like classic, but a modern band. And NOT alternative. As far as you can get from it. Any bands like it? I'd love to hear one but it seems to rare. If so please tell, if not, ill go kill myself. Lol, thanks if you can help.

Oh! I think I've heard of them...
They're pretty modern, I think their first release was 1990?
Or 1991 I forget.

I guess you could try Spock's Beard or Glass Hammer.
Heaven's made a cesspool of us all.

I just got a Beardfish album which I am very much enjoying.

If you like your prog in a more Kansasesque vein then Anti-depressive delivery with their FREE brand new album would suit you well. Its free...you really cant go wrong trying them out.

I also just picked up a band called  Deluge Grander , which I have only been able to listen to in highly distracted situations. Sounds good what I 've heard, but proceed at own risk.

Alters is a Polish band that is a little more off the beaten path that you might enjoy.

You could always try Kayo Dot's latter works, Blue Lambency Downward or Coyote for some off-centre prog.

High Wheel , they have poor ratings on PA, but i think they don't deserve it :

http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=149

You can listen to MP3, it's symphonic rock with a huge Pink Floyd influence.

http://www.high-wheel.de/

A part of that there is the obvious one :

Anglagard
Anekdoten
Glass Hammer
Flower Kings
Beardfish

Try Anekdoten. If you like early King Crimson then you will love this band.

Would you like some Bailey's?

Glass Hammer I checked out and they're actually pretty awesome if you're in the right pompous mood :D Other bands are just plain Swedish. Everything's from Sweden nowadays.

You might like Astra.  I've only heard their album once, but it reminds me of some good older stuff:
