I voted Floyd, but just because I have only heard one King Crimson album. (In the Court...)

For a bunch who eschew popularity we surely have a lot of top 10 etc lists. Crimson make rather austere music. PF became poular on their own terms. Crim blew it in 74 when Fripp went doolally. KC are a favourite of mine. So are Pink Floyd. It's like saying Wish You Were Here or Red..... This is worse than my up coming political elections. Assassinate the lot of them see if I care, I'll help. Rapid fire witha pop gun, anything. But choose between KC and PF? let's see, can't do it on the basis of great albums so years of touring and material releases. Not counting Box sets CKollector's cKlub boots etc. So we shall think of them as footy teams. Here's the results. PF 67 no KC 1-0 PF in 68 no KC 1-0 PF and KC in 69 -74 6-6 PF in 75 1-0 PF in 77 1-0 PF in 79 1-0 PF in 80 1-0 KC and PF in 81 1-1 KC in 82 0-1 PF and KC in 83 1-1 KC in 84 0-1 PF in 87. 88. 89, 90 4-0 PF and KC in 94 1-1 KC in 95, 96 0-2 KC in 2001 0-1 19-14 2002 to now? South Circular Relegation league. Both of them. Summary KC a great Cup Side. PF win the league.

I prefer KC but Floyd's "Animals" is better than any other KC's album for me . Though "Starless" is one of my top 3 of all times......

Floyd has 2 or 3 "good" albums....King Crimson is well into double digits with great albums.....I'll chose the Crimson.

One thing I find hard to choose about this in my own opinion is that save for when Barrett, and later on when Roger left, and for the short time that Richard Wright left. They have all been the same musicians with a ton of Experimentation. It is the same with bands such as Yes, and Rush for the most part they have been mostly the same band that made their original masterpieces. King Crimson's only original member that has been on every album is Robert Fripp who is amazing on his part and always is and I love everything I have heard from King Crimson I do not know if I could believe if they kept the original lineup their entire career I am not sure they could have done all the different types of music they did throughout the years. However, King Crimson it i because the band itself did much more for progressive music regardless.

Good point. PF and KC are my favorite bands but which one I'd choose depends on my mood on the day. I'm more often into Floyd mood, I think.
