Hello, we're three guys who're playing to overly used lineup of: Bass, Drums and Guitar. And now were looking for a good song to play. We have a very limited time to practice every week, so it can't be any overly long song, it doesn't matter if it's complicated since we are all quite good with out intruments. We've played mostly played songs like: Come Together with Beatles and Born to Be Wild by Steppenwolf, and we want to start playing something more advanced than that.

So now we need help deciding a song to play, it doesn't matter if the original version had Piano or other instruments (as long as it's not songs like: Get them out by friday, which is driven by the piano). We were considering playing Hocus Pocus by Focus, but now we realized that we want something different. We're looking for something that is less build on riffs (and especially riffs built upon Power Chords).

So, if you got any good suggestions, write them! Thanks.

Being a Rush fan, I have to suggest something like La Villa Strangiato or YYZ or if you are looking for vocals something like Freewill, Limelight, or Natural Science. Big smile

How about some classic Jethro Tull-Aqualung, Hymn 43, Locomotive Breath (I've actually played the piano intro on guitar before.). As RushFan4 says, Rush songs would also be cool.

I had allways myself wanted to addept some Prodigy songs into a Rock, metal, prog seting to see if that  could work, they are pretty rocklike allready only do all the electronical stuff on bass and guitar, and backfround keybords/synth and drums, I love the intencety of a Prodigy song and they are probably realy fun to play live and the audience would love it

If you play Hocus Pocus I suggest the freaking fast version. I suggest that you all write a list of you favorite bands or the bands that you'd like to play and see what you have in common or what would be the best. I did that with my ban and it ended up well (very various also) we played some Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dream Theater and Black Tide.
