Well the whole "promise" thing is difficult, I mean hes not a dictator....
Has to deal with Congress which is a train wreck.

Though I have expressed many times I am a bit disappointed with how things have gone.
He wasn't gunna change the system or do anything radical but I was expecting a more liberal agenda.

He's been moderate (I dont care what anyone says). I was hoping for a bit more of a progressive agenda.

Then read the comments.
Nothing is ever enough. There will always be a new thing to hate for these people.

those comments are pretty benign as politics go, in fact most sound as if they actually like him and wish he'd delivered more--  it's not hate, that's for sure, and I'm pretty sure the Frightened White Americans kind of websites would be much worse

Oh thats right! I forgot Obama is a muslim and thus a terrorist.
He's also racist.
Also since liberalism = communist he's that as well.

What an evil evil man he is.
Also he wasn't born in America.

To be fair, when I say "Obama" its really just an easier way of saying the current Democratic regime

Like with "Bush" Easier then saying the Republicans in power...
Anyway, Obama/the Dems have let me down a bit. Again, nothing earth shattering but I was expecting something more.
And people really need to relax.

The most liberal congresspeople we have in power brush Social Democracy (which is my personal belief) so yeah...Obama and the Democrats are socialist?
Hardly!
Elect me into power and see a real leftist. I'd have Republicans crying to have Bama back LOL

Let's just re-elect Jimmy Carter and be done with it.  Oh wait, we apparently have done that.

As usual, disappointment with what should have been a great alternative to the Republicans.

But...so much of what is wrong now is out of Obama's hands.  Does anyone even remotely think Palin (or any Republican) would make it better?  If so, send me a PM so we can arrange for me to purchase some of whatever it is you're ingesting.

Hello no
Just because I am disappointed with how Congress has been, and also that Obama has been more moderate then I hoped for does not mean I am like most others "ZOMG! FAIL TIME TO VOTE FOR REPUBLICANS NOW!"
I dont see anyway on Earth I would vote Republican.

Dems are always the lesser of two evils
And I hope to god he gets a second term (especially so these fake libertarians dont get in)
But my hope is not high at the moment.
And we'll suffer for it

He may get a second term.  I personally think he deserves it, though I am not happy with his continuation of the previous administration's mindless war-mongering.  (Sorry, I grew up during the Viet Nam era).  It's a new century and the U.S. is no longer the world's peace force nor savior, though I suppose China is happy to continue to fund us to do the dirty work for them.

Unfortunately with the economy shot  the people will express discontent by electing Republicans to Congress...Libertarians rarely get more than 5% of the vote in any election...which will make it all the more difficults for the Dems to push any agenda through.  So we'll end up with polarized, ineffective sh*t in DC.
Same as it ever was, same as it ever was.  This ain't no party...this ain't no disco...this ain't no foolin' around.  Sadly, DC does not understand that.

They don't weigh the promises at all. That's ludicrous.

If in a campaign I promise a $5 tax refund for all Americans and America will not enter any foreign wars, then I grant the rebate and unleash our nuclear arsenal on the world, I should not have a 50% promise kept rating.

I actually consider his presidency do be much better than Bush's.

Serious question now people: why do Republicans seem to wreck the economy in recent years? I mean, look at what Regan and Bush (senior and junior) did to the economy. Clinton got an economy in great deficit and, at the end of his second term, had a quite big surplus. Obama is trying to fix the biggest economical mess since 1929 and has got some limited success.

As I said in a different thread the see the President as the sole factor, or even the largest factor, which effects the economy is foolish. Especially when looking at the budget, we should look less at the President and more at the Congress where any budget reduction/raise must originate and obviously pass. The Republican Congress surely contributed to Clinton's surplus.

Pretty much
I was 100% sure he'd get a second term. Because lets face it, economy turns around he's in.
If not...
But I'm thinking more every day it will NOT be improved by November 2012, at least not much.
Hope I'm wrong of course.

I used to agree, but honestly...its a cycle man.
It moves on its own and the President really has little "impact" on it.
That being said, that is the overall market. I do think Republican policies cause a lot of harm to the country.

And this in from FB
Barack Obama Michelle and I wish all who celebrate Rosh Hashanah a sweet year full of health and prosperity.

SO! Not only is Obama a a muslim he's a Jew!?
He just cant be the right religion? Wink
