we were all split into groups of 15-20 people from the same faculty... no nice looking girls or even interesting people in my group, but boy did I see a lot of pretty nursing students
JJ - I'd wait until after classes start for any of that; there's nothing but first years and the volunteers around today (and most of the people are scaredy or lame) since it was a holiday.
two of my closest friends are also in engineering, so I foresee lots of misadventures later

Ah - you're an engineer. Good luck finding girls in that field. Not to say they don't exist, but the guy/girl ratio in engineering schools is pretty high.
Oh, and what field of engineering are you going into? Do you know?

Good man. And honestly, you dont want to do anything TOO epic. I heard this one story. It was the guys first, and last, day of college. Next day his parents told him "OK, this is not for you" And he went into the Army

That's the problem I had doing Computing and Information Systems. There were few girls but most of them dropped out. Oh and here's me wearing two hats.

it's 5:1 :( but traditionally the engineering students pair up with the nursing students, who have a similar (but opposite) ratio and plus are capable of taking care of us when we get alcohol poisoning first year is "general," we don't choose a field here until 2nd year, once we sort of know more about them all. I'm thinking electrical or mechanical

The nursing students get paired up with the engineers during orientation? Sweet.
Yeah, we don't actually get accepted into a specific field until our 5th semester (about). I'm thinking either mechanical or nuclear.
