They did only say 'film', not 'record'....

Wait a minute...

Yes, probably going to do some kind of live audio album from Radio City / RAH - if we can play all the old songs well enough!

YESSSSS! I was so hoping they'd change their minds on this! They just can't let these concerts, the biggest they've ever done, go unrecorded for posterity. A live DVD would have been even better, but oh well. An audio CD will do more than well. I hope they play some of their ultra old-school stuff, and put it on the disc this time (I'm looking at you, Stars Die!)

I'm kind of glad it'll be just audio this time around... I feel like The Incident is more of an aural experience, I don't know.  And I don't want them overdoing the DVDs.

I am reeeeaaalllly excited for this, though! It should be truly fantastic to hear all of The Incident live, as well (of course) their old material; always a plus.  Of course they can play the old tracks well enough!  :)

I am so looking forward to this now. Live Albert Hall album, Insurgentes DVD, Blackfield III, SW's second solo album, the Mikael/Steven collaboration has been confirmed. So much stuff to look forward to!

I have no doubt they can still play their old stuff excellently. Ideally, I would like them to play The Sky Moves Sideways in its entirety. I doubt they will, but it is a three hour gig, right? Never say never.

I would Cry with joy if they played all of TSMS. Or Up the Downstair, for that matter. I wanna hear some Stars Die, though.

The Incident was AMAZING live!! One of the best shows I have been to, I couldn't believe I was standing in the same room as Steven Wilson!

I KNOW! It was so good when I saw them play it live this year. Amazing concert. I was near the front, metres away from Steven Wilson. He even looked me in the eye at one point! Awesome concert.

That must have been great. Just being able to see such a magical band perform. I watched some of this earlier:

Damn, he is good... I'm gonna get Arjen's Guilt Machine album just to hear his drumming. LOL

Also, welcome to the PT thread Amalia! Always nice to see more and more people appreciating the music of SW and PT.

According to his Facebook page, Steven Wilson said at the Insurgentes movie premiere that after his second solo disc hits, he is planning to go on a SOLO TOUR! Shocked

I swear, SW is the gift that keeps on giving! In terms of prolific output! If not on my wallet! LOL

My wallet's never too filled, but when it is, most usually goes to him! Tongue But as long as he keeps giving, I'll keep buying; everything he touches is gold, it's so hard not too buy anything he's affiliated with.

He has the Midas touch indeed, everything so far he's had any involvement in has turned to gold. I haven't been able to resist him yet. Everything he's released so far this year (which is a hell of a lot) I bought straight away! LOL IEM boxset? Check. Cover Versions boxset? Double check. Insurgentes DVD? Yup. Anesthetize deluxe edition? Missed the red one, but oh yeah, I got it. Recordings reissue? Arrived last week! I must be a dream for his marketing team!

I still don't have Recordings... didn't have the money at the time  :(  , but I did order the bonus-CD Insurgentes movie. Can't wait for it!

It'd be great if they released it as an ROABP album, although I don't think they'll restrict this one in numbers.

Also, just noticed that SW is listening to Sun Kil Moon (currently in his playlist on SWHQ) and I can't more than highly endorse you guys check them out. Amazing modern folk:

I can relate.  I've bought all of the above but Recordings, since I have the original, plus I have seen PT perform The Incident 4 times so far, and am now looking forward to Radio City Music Hall . . . and that doesn't count the concert t-shirts, prints and other PT related stuff I've bought online.

In the Tampa Theatre, we were in the second row just off center, and the way that theatre is set up there were no seats in front of us, so through most of the concert I was bout fifteen feet or so from Steven Wilson - that was the show where the stage was too small to accommodate their video screen, which made for a much more intimate show overall.  And, happily, during some of the quieter moments of the concert Steven Wilson was clearly taking in the theatre - a truly beautiful venue.  Magical show.

Great news that he will undertake a solo tour - I'm sure he will hit at least a few venues in the States, but if not, I'll find a way to manage to see him somewhere.  ;-)
