The Dodgers was offically over when Frank and Jamie annouced their diovorce plans. Angry

I wish Bud Selig would grow a pair and rip this franchise away from them and give it to someone who deserves it.  The Twins have a higher payroll and the Dodgers are third in Baseball in attendance breaking the 3 million mark for the 15th straight time.  This is a crime.

I read an article the other day that said that the Pirates and the Marlins were 2 of the most profitable teams in the league.  It has mostly to do with keeping their payroll low and collecting profits from the Yankees, but there is nothing to encourage them to try and field a better team.

The Tigers and Twins are deadlocked in a 0-0 battle in the 5th inning.  Typical Twins - Tigers game.  Tigers have 5 hits the Twins have 0.  When it is all said and done I am quite certain the Twins will end up ahead like they always do.  Wouldn't surprise me if their only hit is a walk-off homerun in the 9th inning to win 1-0.

Ah well.  So much for that.  Back to back hits and a double play and the Twins now have their 1-0 lead.  It will probably end that way.

Yanks beat the A's 4-3

They have not really been playing that well, but have the best record in baseball
Not sure if this has me worried or hopeful but we'll see

Ah well. Close enough.  Twins win 2 to 1 in the 10th inning.  Scherzer pitched 9 awesome innings but the Tigers had to eventually go to their bullpen, and they did what they have been doing the entire 2nd half of the season and lost the game.

That does sound familiar.

Well that rookie campaign has gone well...

You heard correct.....I have this funny feeling that this one will not end up too well.....Just seems like someone has to break the success record of TJ surgery....I hope not though

At least you got to August with hopes.......Mariners never got out of the starting gate in April. Problem is I don't see any hope for next year either......

The human arm wasn't designed for throwing overhand. Them again for some reason pitchers back in the day diidn't seem to have this problem.

Tigs lost by inches to the White Sox yesterday.  Inge hit a two-run home run in the 8th inning, but it was overturned on review.  The White Sox leftfielder immediately pointed foul, and apparently Inge didn't bother running the bases until the umpire called it fair.  For a brief moment we thought that we might win the game.  Unfortunately, Valverde has continued to be absolutely awful since the All-Star break.  He was lights out the first half of the season, but just about every team we face is knocking his lights out in the second half.  His nickname is the Big Potato (Papa grande), but I've taken to calling him the Mashed Potato.

Have to say I had written the Philies off 2 months ago, but they have the best record in the NL now.

My only hope for the M's this season is for Felix to win the Cy Young and Ichiro to have another 200 hit season. Hearing the arguement from NYY fans about CC is pretty funny..but also shows the balance of power has swung to only the W-L column. Overall pitching performance means nothing to most, I don't think they get it.
Felix beats out CC in almost every pitching category except W-L.....I can already see this outcome.

Ichiro going for another 200 hit season....I think this makes 10 in a row....unreal!

ClapClapClap  Tigers take 3 out of 4 from the White Sox.  That'll put a major dent in their playoff hopes.

The Cards sat Albert last night against the Cubs and lost again. It seems Tony has finally given up on this season.

No joy in Cardinal Nation this year. No pennant or playoffs.

Now only if the Buccos could win on the road and get to .500 I would be happy.

Come on 2011 season.

Yanks and Rays have been having quite a battle for the AL East, and this game has been a microcosm of it. Good stuff.
