Corrected.  I'm not all to fond of Piper when compared with the solo Barrett.

I have a similar opinion towards Hawkwind.  I've listened to more Hawkwind today than ever before in my life.  You can see from my posts in What Are You Listening To Now?  that I don't have very much from them.  To my ears they have a similar dated sound similar to early Pink Floyd.

You need to get Ummagumma, Jon, you'd prolly like that.

I plan to get that and Piper sometime in the not too distant future.

Oh yes, you need them both. Especially the live disc on Ummagumma.

I've only heard Warrior on the Edge of Time and Space Ritual.

I haven't been able to get into Hawkwind for whatever reason.  By all accounts they should be a band I'd love, but they don't do anything for me.  Ah well.

I haven't heard Hawkwind sadly.  Been wanting to get a copy of Warrior On the Edge of Time though.

I almost bought the 3CD Hawkwind anthology one day but decided to buy a hamburger, fries and coke instead.

It's called a shred.  I think... It seems kind of like an hippie tribe kinda place though, more LSD fueled bands by the minute.

I've not heard either of those.  In Search of Space and Hall of the Mountain Grill are the two main releases that I have from them.  I am listening to their latest Blood of the Earth for the first time, as I volunteered to review it.  I think that it might be kind of hard to review an album from a band that has been around for 40 years, when I am only familiar with 2 of their albums.  On the other hand, maybe that will give me a different perspective than that of a fan.

I may have imagined the whole thing, because now I can't seem to find such an album anywhere. Confused

Never mind, I found it. Embarrassed
