Interesting point sort of. We've been offing ourselves in wars and with disease in mass quantities and it seems to have worked in the past. When the aliens come and attack us with their advanced weaponry and diseases then our economy will improve.

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

Nuclear War. Not ALL life will die, and maybe a few humans will make it. We can start over from scratch and do things right.
Unless we dont make it...then in a million years nature can rule the world again.

It would never be recovered and it never was in prosperity because until big corporations are running our countries we will still be corporate slaves to the big wall street''s bankers.

I voted yes. Simply cause while population is still growing more food will be needed. then some will get richer, spend more money and others will be pushed to the circle and so on. The problem is that we are too many already so this wil have to end sometimes (either hunger or disease. only these 2 can kill enough people. War failed to do that).
I am thinking lately of which economy is needed to support life without population growth (our existing economy is based on growth). I don't know the answer but we will have to find it cause in the long term that is the only way we can survive.

Is the economy even that bad? Are times even that bad? Why does everyone seem to think life is so damn bad, these days, and it's only getting worse?
When's the last time an African American was hanged from the old oak tree in your front yard, just for speaking his mind?
Aren't microwaves convenient?
I sure am glad I don't have smallpox!
I'm not saying it was bad, now it's good. I'm just saying that, socially, you'd think folks would see the changes. But, you know, folks are goddamn ignorant, huh?
Oh, and the economy? I could care less. homelessness is fantastic!

Economics is all about smoke and mirrors. Different economists have a different idea about what economic collapse actully entails.
Some would say for example, that someone who is £2000 overdrawn at the bank, is 'broke' If that person has an agreed overdraft limit for that amount, and doesn't exceed it, then arguably they are not broke, although they dont technically speaking have any money. For some, being in the red is wholly unnaceptable. It depends where your start point is and how you define wealth and poverty.
