Cynic because of Traced in Air and an awesome live performance. It's hard to vote against the band that made Elements, though.

Cynic definitely.
I liked their techdeth stuff, as with Atheists, but their newest album is a much better change of pace.

These are the two most quintessential jazzy prog thrash/death metal bands around, both of which have reunited recently. These two bands are widely appreciated in the technical death metal scene, and their albums from the early 90's are on the rise to legendary status. For me, it's Atheist easily, but there are plenty of Cynic fans around here as well.
