Hearing Pink Floyd put me off listening to 60s-70s prog for a long time (They were the first band I really heard from that era), I find them so dull it actually makes me angry. KC however were/are brilliant, 70s stuff especially, but i think all their stuff's worth a listen |
I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who has this view

KC has done some excellent work but for me, PF is the top of the mountain.

I know that King Crimson are better musicians and I know they make way proggier music than PF, but I just like PF better.

Pink Floyd got me into Prog, but King Crimson still gets my vote for sheer consistency and innovation (even though they will never top the holy trinity of LTiA, SaBB and Red.)

Hmmmm.... a band with a few good albums, maybe two of which really meant much to me, or a band that has forty years of good music.......

Which of you to gain me, tell, will risk uncertain pains of hell?
I will not forgive you if you will not take the chance.

Except with live material, and potentially Lizard!

At least PF didn't become Philesis after Waters left.

You know that KC is better, which is a good start. So you're on a good path

....I hit the "King Crimson" button so hard that I broke my laptop!! Damn new Apple Macbook Pro, too!!
You can't be serious to compare Fripp, one of the most amazing guitar innovators of the 20th century, with Gilmour, a glorified blues soloist??
Compare "Fracture" to anything in the PF catalog and give me a call.
