Godbluff is one of those albums where I have no idea what the worst track is, they're all so damn good.

It goes Ghost Reveries > Blackwater Park > Damnation > Still Life > Watershed > MAYH > Deliverance,
And I haven't heard the other ones enough to rank them.

Still Life > Watershed > BP > Deliverance > GR > MAYH > Morningrise > Orchid >>>>>> Damnation

David, I'm finally listening to Hyderomastgroningem...actually just about done with it.  This album's crazy, though not as crazy as the one I listened to right before it by far.

It might be my favorite Ruins album from the ones I've heard. It seems to be the most...eclectic (?) one. LOL

Damnation is half of Opeth's sound.

Although to be fair, so is Deliverance. But the title track and Master's Apprentice (or is it Master's Apprentices?) kick so much ass. And seeing the first performed live only confirmed it even more.

It's definitely good, but I still like Stonehenge more.  I got more Ruins project CDs today (Ronruins, Sax Ruins, Derek Bailey & the Ruins, etc) so I need to check those out too. Tongue

Well, you've got me there. Embarrassed I guess I prefer an entirely metal album from them rather than an entirely non-metal album.

Nice. I need to get some more after I get some other 2010 albums I'm currently lacking.

OH SNAP

LOL

But yeah, I agree, that even a few well placed, or unexpected riffs/growls in Damnation could have made it really interesting.

Yeah, I figured it out a long time ago when I saw his review for Colors. He mentioned in there he was Dan Briggs' father, which is pretty awesome. Thumbs Up
