I'm tempted to change all my John Coltrane tracks to John William Coltrane to annoy people and to mess up last.fm.

And Matt, icons and the like are supposed to get smaller.  Maybe not unseeable though.

I suspect it's your terrible eyesight.

I cannot stand huge icons.  They look silly and you can't get too many on the desktop.

Print Screen all those resolutions so we can see them for ourselves.

But not now, as I'm going out and I won't be back for another 8 hours or so.

No, I don't know why they aren't aligned. Even my Zorn sig disappears if there is a really long band name in my sig that stretches out my PF sig.
