I found out yesterday that the violinist for Tin Hat Trio is the girl who does vocals and violin for Sleepytime Gorilla Museum.  Huh.

Yep, her name is Carla Kihlstedt ( see my sig) and she's involved in a lot of projects really. I saw her back in June in her duo with Satoko Fujii called Minamo. Fred Frith was also there as a guest AND they did a recording, so it'll be an album sometime in the next couple years.

@ James: no they're not on PA, and I don't think I'd add em either.

Damn you guys post quickly. lol

I knew that, James, I just couldn't remember how to spell it.

And I can't even see her in Luke's sig.

So you don't think they're proggy enough then, Luke?

The track I heard reminded me a lot of Henry Cow... but not as rocking.  More like their minimalist stuff they did live.

Bassoon on television.

'tis Mahler's 5th.

Mmm.

The conductor is a cross between Vander and Napoleon.

The trumpet in Mahler's 5th reminds me of the trumpet in Red Dwarf.  Weird.

They're a chamber outfit no doubt and they are avant-garde, but their music isn't proggy enough to be here. They do have their proggy moments, but they're closer to folk and jazz than to prog.

I'll be doing a marathon today (inspired by you), so I will know for sure. Rawks

Are you using a 386 or something? LOL

My resolution is low because I have a bad monitor, if I set it any higher everything is too small.
