I vote for No Metal, though I'm not sure. Symphonic and Folk Metal might be interesting now and then...

^No Metal : a fusion of metal and the music of Nô, the japanese traditional opera. Cool.

doom like old my dying bride or black like the principle of evil made flesh by CoF still make my day!
Power metal is simply awful (apart - keeper of the seven keys part 2) and heavy metal i just can listen to some maiden albums (the first 2 or so) trash is just noise to me

Okay, you jokers. If you really want to see others categories of metal that hadn't been added to this poll, here's a choice of mine, some words that I really saw printed in magazines or written in blogs at least twice : - War Metal - Love Metal (remember HIM?) - Supreme Vampyric Evil (Dani Filth is nearly funny sometimes) - Cyber Punk Sado Metal (courtesy of the mad Finnish band Impaled Nazarene) - Shred Metal (a small French created this one to describe their music) - True Prouvençau Black Metal

Thrash metal! Especially for Slayer and Kreator, two of my favorite bands, as well as the excellent Sodom, Destruction, Dark Angel, Megadeth, Metallica's 80s material, Evile...well, actually pretty much the entire genre kicks ass except for Anthrax.

I like Anthrax! Though Megadeth, Metallica and Slayer are rawkin.
I have Time Does not Heal by Dark Angel. Interesting stuff.

I guess I'll say death metal, but all the death metal I like is also progressive.

Its cool. This is a metal thread. All metal is welcome! I guess even metalcore and nu metal and crap like that, but...well actually no.
