There's no point in discussing what we hate, IMO.

Lets just celebrate what we like. There's plenty of music I dont like, prog and otherwise. I just dont bother listerning to it.

Asia and Styx were never really prog bands. On that basis The Sex Pistols were the worst prog band ever.

More musical than King Crimson?? oO

King Crimson are gods, their first album is the best of all times of all genres for sure, so the sex pistols are much worse ...

After all music is supposed to bring pleasure is it not?

MAGNUM

Ouch, yeah - not good. I used to be a big fan in my student days. I re-visited the albums recently and they are a bit shakey.

Magnum are also up for my vote in the most Spinal Tap moment I've ever seen live category. Saw them at the Hammermith Odeon (with Robin George on backup guitar). The band finished a song and we all clapped and cheered, however I noticed that they were looking around in a slightly confused manner. A few seconds later a load of flashbombs exploded scattering the band like sheep.

Got a big laugh...

But then a few bands that are really bad, can perversely sound good. Tucked away on one of those excellent Pebbles compilations are Randy Avey & The Green Fuz (one zed) doing Here Comes The Green Fuz. This track sounds like each band member has been playing their instrument less than a fortnight before they decided they would try to record a single - Green Fuz resulted and it has the worst drum solo ever but it is very short and accidently  hilarious in its crudity. I visibly cringed when I first hear this tune, but there was something about its primitiveness that appealed, and now I whip it out occasionally to remind myself of something that is so bad it becomes good. Which leads to the question: did anybody buy, many decades ago, Napoleon 13th's They Are Coming To Take Me Away  (Ha Ha, He he) - if so which side of the single do you prefer, the A or B side?

Zoogz Rift. I love the guy, it's bizarre and funny stuff, but it's like Zappa played on a Casio by epileptic monkeys. Worst prog ever, but very worth the experience.

My vote goes to MOSTLY AUTUMN - on perspective, my experience with them (3 recordings) has been a total waste of time, but again, in the whole picture it comes as a good thing, I guess...
