Anyone know Asphyx? Combo doom/death metal band. Really cool.

I love Asphyx! Doom metal with double pedal drumming, excellent music. The vocals are pretty strage, that makes them awesome!

Ah yeah, the music was great. Good balance of doom and death. And yeah the vocals sounded almost exactly like Chuck Schuldiner to me. I thought my brother found some demo I've not heard or something Vocals were sweet though.

The Asphyx created by singer Martin Van Drunen after his departure of Pestilence? They're here for a while, but I never listened to them, even if some pals at the university recommended them. Another death-metal veteran band that I never checked...

Despite the fact that I listen almost exclusively to metal, not much outside of the progressive/experimental/post/avant/etc. metal genres we find on this website appeals to me.
But, I do like some older thrash metal.

Used to love thrash 100% As my tastes grew a little bit, I grew tried of some. But Thrash is awesome! Been listening to Testament and Exodus a lot lately. Never knew much of Exodus either before.

Molybdenum - Rare and shiny
I love great riffs no matter the genre. I'm a guitar hound.

You are quite a fine person, and I am very fond of you. But you are only quite a little fellow, in a wide world, after all.

The only metal subgenres I really love are avant-metal (it still hasn't been mentioned) and (technical) death metal. That's about it.
I appreciate some doom, drone and sludge though.
