I'm kind of enjoying making random ambient electro-noise now. I don't know if I will even bother with my guitar.

I've really liked your tracks so far, especially Phase II. I've also had a lot more fun just noodling around and making noise than I thought I would've.

Nice
Seems like this album is going to end up being pure avant rather than avant-metal... |

I wanna do a soft jazz piano ballad smack dab in the middle to f**k with everyone. Kind of like having an Elton John tune in the middle of Reign In Blood.

Yes, I love the avant but I want metalz!
On that note, cant record anything now since my brothers band is practicing. Thus using all the equipment. Also, a weird combo of "deathcore" happy keyboards and tons of pig squeals. Im getting the hell out of here... Be back later, and no recordings today... Hope they dont practice too often, I want to record metal riffs and drumming Edited by JJLehto - August 02 2010 at 11:09 |

Oh gawd. Still a sh*tty racket eminating from the garage...
Ah well, today's off. By the time they're done I can mess around, need to give our family/neighbors some relief! What would be good metal for this band? Was thinking kind of slow and heavy? |

I've got the beginning of a doom-ish song written, and have an idea for something thrashier and more dissonant/avant - sort of Gorguts-esque. But, like I said, no recording for me yet

The metal track I have in mind might be something faster, perhaps with a jazzy part somewhere. Wednesday could be the day I'll sit down and do it.
Perhaps the two-drums track we do should be something slower, so there's more space to experiment. Edited by Pekka - August 02 2010 at 13:34 |

Oh yeah, agreed. That solo was just for fun, though I hope it gets in there! And as I said my guitar experience is limited, I'm not sure how "avant metal" would even go. And all I'm good at is metal rhythm guitar. I can do that Zebra you should do scat singing at one point Edited by JJLehto - August 02 2010 at 13:38 |
