I've already done some home recordings with mine - only problem is with more layers. The background noise and static goes up by 100% per layer, so the fewer layers the better. After about 3 it starts to get pretty poor, but 1 or 2 sound decent for me.

I've already recorded a full album of ambient piano/keyboard music, although it's real bare bones and simple.

I've already got 4 minutes of mellow acoustic noodling.

I just recorded an ambient piece too, not sure if it's any good.

The only problem(s) I've got now:

1. My recorder only records in 96kbps, and it saves the files as .wma, so I can't use them on Audacity.

2. I need to get some new strings for my guitar.

3. I need to amplify my recordings, as I'm all-acoustic. Mind you, feedback is intended.

Also, you'll get vocals from me for free! The only problem is that I need to wait until everybody else is out of the house. And now I'm really going.

Is there some recording project happening? Big smile

To return to an earlier subject, I think Audacity is very good for recording if you're not looking for hi-fi quality, all my tracks have been recorded with Audacity and a rather cheap USB mic. The other day I tried to make some sense of GarageBand, but even with the manual couldn't make a sound.

Yeah, we've got a collective avant-atonal-noise rock/metal thing going. The band thread is in JFF - Russian Tea Cakes.

BLAH! Cant sleep
And yes Pekka, massive international recording LOL
Gunna attempt to get everyone to record a piece and put it all together in some massive, probable mess of an avant metal song, with noise jazz and everything thrown in!

Yeah, they're about 400AUD here, but since we're doing well against the USD, I'd save about 100-150$...

I'm thinking of recording a nice, easy acoustic riff for about 2 minutes, then just deconstructing it into noise for another few minutes.

Very nice joel, and wow are you already recording for this thing! Well good, sooner we can start the better. Then I play some drums along to it!

Man that game is intense... I only play it occasionally (been playing through Half Life 2 for the first time in a while) but whenever I do I love it. It is crushingly difficult though.
