I don't know. And I've been QUITE drunk before, like very. All I can guess is my body is crazy that way!
Though not full blown I have had mild spins before...(but I like it Wacko) and worst ever I woke up and just felt a lil disoriented.
But yeah never a full blown hangover, nor have I blacked out (then wake up and remember nothing)

I wonder if it will be copied again. LOL

Those thieves could've at least sent me a free CD or something.

I would take it as a compliment, if it's good enough to steal you must be doing something right.

Oh matt...you silly goose.

And are you talking about making something? Or actually drawing/painting something?

The EP will be a photograph.

I have no idea what the full album's artwork will look like.  I've had ideas, but they all seem to suck.

The EP artwork seems perfect to me.  And it will be taken right in our living room.  Smile

Very cool Smile
Yeah, you are nearing final stages.
I am woefully lost. All I have are ideas and random segments. No idea how I'll compose songs out of them yet, maybe I should jam anyway and see what I get.
Oh and lyrics! I can't sing for my life. So unless you guys want growling, and I may not be able to do that well Im thinking instrumental w/ lyrics you can read while listening?

Yeah, but I'll probably never know if they were inspired by me or not.  *sigh*

And by the way, a lot of people hate Still the Waters' artwork.  They really think it's terrible!

Don't growl...I've only known two bands that I positively like the growling.  Everyone else sounds so silly doing it.

It's not horrible, it's just kind of bland. (IMO)

I was a lil peeved at the reviews/ratings
I could see why some may think there was bias...but really I thought a lot of reviews were quite fair.
And also so many people brought it up! I tried to keep my review based solely on the music. Why even bring up your a forum member or the debate about it in a formal review?

But whatever, and to each their own Rob...but yeah I don't see how someone could think it a 1 or 2...
I toiled between a 3.5 and 4

And I do like to sing along to Opeth/Death/Children of Bodom Wink
But nah, if I did put something out...Im thinking little stories you can read along to the music.
In my mind I'd match the music to the lyrics, but no way to make anyone read it at a pace/way to make them match......

I absolutely love growling/any form of harsh vocals when done properly at appropriate times in music. Perfectly complements some music, imo.

Also, Rob, I'm really excited for the new EP and album!

To me, growling is just another aesthetic tool, it's nice to be able to do if that's your thing, but I don't think growling for the sake of it is especially wise.

I do think some growling is a bit silly, but usually I can look past that for the music. In some bands I don't mind it at all.

Agreed with you and ACYL.
It can be quite fitting with the music, and when you get used to it...as I have it can be quite good when taken along with the music.
Though it can be done badly. Very badly, and I agree it shouldn't be done for the sake of it.

I don't know...I need to try it out maybe.

Do you mean my album?

I know 2 low reviews were genuine, but the others I think were bullsh*t.  Pure and simple.  When your album goes high in the chart here, even for a little while, you get bad ratings and reviews to knock you back down.  It's what happens.

Best use of growling I've ever heard came from Mastodon and Between the Buried and Me.

Best for me would be on maudlin of the Well's 'Bath' (on They Aren't All Beautifull and Birth Pains Of Astral Projection) or something on Kayo Dot's Choirs Of the Eye.

1. Rob didn't write "Dreaming Light"so there's +1 for Anathema's recent album.

2. Woodchuck cider makes me feel good down below just thinking about it.

I do like Mastodon not so familiar with BTB&M

I've been on an Opeth binge myself....and I think it works for them very well!
I'll mess around, see if:
1- I can do it
2- Can make it fit with the music
oh and if I can not ruin my voice

Best growl for me ever, is on the track 'The Wind', by The Morningside - it's really dirty and loud and messy. But the release of energy in the vocals, coupled with the beginning of a truly crushing mid-tempo riff is cathartic and god-like.
