I didn't like her when she ran, now i have no opinion of her either way.  But I don't believe she is qualified to be president (course neither is Obama).  But she's the one R on the block right now I doubt I could not vote for.  Any of the others I will vote for over another Obama term.  She's a news anchor, she's a Jesse Ventura, she's not a president.

And he missed the 100th anniversary Jamboree of the Boy Scouts to be there.

Kind of a shame, really.

He lost me early on, when I believe 4 police officers in Oakland were murdered in one day.  He couldn't make it to the funeral to say something to the families, but he was able to fly out for Jay Leno a few days later.

Just on a personal level, as a guy and a citizen, I couldn't forget that.  Just one example.

Me neither. He loves fame. He's a celebrity at times.

I'll still vote for him over almost any republican (specially the ones front runnning). And beware: that will be my first presidential election.

On the Palin issue... She can't even speak properly. I can't beliee people love her. Wait... I actually can believe it.

I hate her. I find her to be stupid, war mongering, and full of contradictory stances.

She's associated with the Tea Party, not libertarianism. The Tea Party is split between its more libertarian side and more Reaganist side, with Ron Paul and Palin being the respective influences on each.

Thank you for the kind words btw.

Ah yes, congrats again on soon becoming an American!
Get used to throwing your vote away or picking the lesser of two evils! Wink
Though I dont  really believe a vote is ever a "waste"

And yeah, obviously its issues and action over words and image for me....but in terms of image. Sarah Palin Dead
Whatever floats your boat...but I dont know how I could live with 4 or 8 years of "oh gosh darn dont ya knew"
And I actually met a few people from Alaska, they dont talk like that! And they dont know anyone who does! She sounds like she is the daughter of a Wisconsin Cheese King LOL with redneck in there.

Oh and just like Bush she may not be "dumb" but....well actually I think so sometimes Ermm

Yeah, that works.

I really don't hate anyone in politics more than her.

I like her as a commentator/pundit. I think she has a lot of appeal and a lot of good things to say. I also don't think she's stupid. However, I don't want her as president, she simply doesn't have the experience and the credentials. And we all saw how well it worked out last time we elected someone inexperienced. Wink

Bush was not dumb but acted like a simpleton. He was not the smartest guy either but I would never put him with Palin. She's astute, she's sneaky, but not terribly smart. She knows how to move herself on the political board though. She has that sixth sense that politicians have. Or maybe she's just a narcissist oportunist. Anyway, she's dangerous precisely because she has that extra something.

Jj, in Ecuador I used to choose the lesser of at least 12 EVILS so going down to two is an improvement

Oh no it was Dracula actually but with Gary Oldman (Coppola's film). But Lee had to come back. Anyway, the blood in the avatar is always necessary...

I honestly think Bush was a smart guy. Not even naive, like some say...he just lived in a bubble world.
He was sorrounded by very competent, if not evil, people. I think he was just kind of there and they said "Wubya! We need to get the terrorists in Iraq" or "This is the War on Terror" and like that. Any sinister plots were carried out by the people around him. Maybe he acted a bit as well.
As a guy I kinda liked Georgie...but being a good guy does not equate to being a good president, as we sawLOL

And 12 evils!? Shocked
Though that is a good name for a metal album

Man, who honestly cares about the Boy Scouts? I don't know why he wanted to associate in any way with the shrill harpies of The View, but I would rank fund raising or pretty much else over giving a meaningless speech for some children who probably don't even like him very much. If he went other people would complain about him further undermining gay rights by supporting a homophobic organization, and they're already pissed at him for dragging his heels on DADT and gay marriage.

Finn, it is sad when police officers die, although a construction worker is approximately as likely to die on the job as a cop and nobody calls them a hero, but I don't feel that the President is obligated to attend anybody's funeral. Is it so implausible that he had something really important to do that day, while the Jay Leno day was slow? I'm not completely sure what it is the President does every day, but I assume some of it is important.

if you own a sodastream i hate you

I do.  But on the copper thing, I never said he was obligated.  I'm saying a good man and leader would have found the time to spend 20 minutes with their wives and children.  Because these people and their families give a little more to society and you and I than do the typical construction worker.  If you don't understand how, I can't explain it to you.

I used to think Palin was alright, but not since she became a weird Populist....thing. I'd probably be happier if she wasn't involved in the Tea Party. She's one of the people who gives it a bad reputation.
