Hooboy, what a year. Prog or not, this is some mighty fine stuff. Sgt pepper might win it, on account of how popular that sucker seems to be.
I can't go with either Beatles product, as half of the music in each strikes me as boring filler. I absolutely detest Jimi's debut, and would have no use for it if it weren't for the singles, which kick righteous ass.
If I had to choose between The Doors and Strange Days, I'd pick the former, because of the hard hitting nature, even if I love both. Forever Changes has really been growing on me, lately, as has Harum's debut.
I can't decide, just yet.

I'll go for Magical Mystery Tour with Piper as a close second.

Why isn't one of the poll choices "No" ?

So a****les like yourself would comment on it? I basically chose no. Now that you think on it, I should've added the option. I plan on doing one for each year, from the lat 60's early 70's.

I say a three way tie between "Emotions" by The Pretty Things, "Something Else" by The Kinks, and "The Diary of Emerlist Davjack" by The Nice.
All very underrated and forgotten masterworks of their year of release.
Oh, and you forgot to add the very cockney-y, "Ogdens Nut Gone Flake" to the poll. Poor Happiness Stan!

Love's Forever Changes. Beautiful strings and horns accompaniment with Arthur Lee's dimented and romantic lyrics. Makes me numb.

I wanted to include Something Else... and Emerlist, but I totally forgot them upon creation of this poll.

Gotta go with The Doors s/t. It was the first album I owned and what got me into music.

One more vote for the non-acknowledged proto-prog masterpiece that's currently on the lead.

So many great albums to choose from, but The Doors' debut gets my vote in the end.
