An interesting question I thought of yesterday. Which of the 3 hits you harder?

I'm a huger music fan than a literature and movie fan, but I think movies and books tend to hit me harder.
No vote, yet.

Using the wrong "effect/affect."
I know that I should probably pick a good album on a music site, but in all honesty a good movie can move emotions in me that I've never known before. Don't get me wrong, good albums and books are also very effective (as well as good video games,) but I don't think I'll witness any form of art as mind-blowing as the last 30 minutes of 2001: A Space Odyssey.

I love all three for the effects they have on me, but some of the albums I listen to just bring me to tears some of the time. No greater feeling in the world to me.

You never cried with a movie?

Always the books. Following the advices of a friend, I started to read Ivo Andric for a few years and I prefer Terry Pratchett or Neil Gaiman to any fantastic/SF movie. For some reason, I'm not a cinephile.

I enjoy all 3, but for me, a good book just is the best.

As for the effect they have on me, all three are pretty much on the same level but I just have to pick the great ones. An excellent movie will affect me more than a bad book, for example.

I am not a good friend of books, I like reading but it doesn't affects me emotionally, just Graphic Novels. Movies affect me, but I don't watch then frequently. Music is the most abstract of the 3, probably the hardest to affect a person, but it strikes me perfectly. A good album is my choice, by miles.

I do love a good album, but I'm most stirred by a good movie.

I'd say books, movies, then music... it's very close between them all, though, to be honest. Lunar Park hit me extremely hard, as did King's The Shining. I love Blade Runner, 2001, and Office Space is one of my favorite comedies . Misplaced Childhood effects me greatly, as does PT's...well, any album by PT.

Hm, wow. This is actually quite difficult.
Books are the least, and while they can be powerful and quite moving, its the most difficult for me. For me, its easier to be taken in by a movie than music. But I prefer music. I guess its the loner aspect of me, but with music I can lay down, all lights away, and really "meditate" on the music. Doesn't work at a theater, or even in my room. Maybe its the looking at a screen thing. When I get deep into the music it takes to me some great places.
Good music has to take my vote, though you made me think on this one!

Good question. Probably three of the greatest things civilization has gifted us with. I'm going to have to go with music as I have so saturated my life with it. Scratch that, when I read read the choices it was album and not music. Since most of my books are cooking, politics, and humor, they often don't affect me as a whole. Music doesn't affect me as much on the album level except for concept albums.
