I'm not sure if anyone around here is aware, but evidently Rich and girlfriend, Sarah Segal, were involved in a serious auto accident. Details are sketchy, but Rich is listed in serious condition. His Facebook page is being flooded by thoughts, prayers and words of encouragement.

If anyone bought their Differences As Light ep, then you got a little taste of what Rich brought to the band and what was to come on their first full length album with Rich on vocals later this year. I just listened to it yesterday and it's absolutely brilliant.

Needless to say, the important thing is for Rich to pull through this and get back to good health. I've had a few exchanges with him via Facebook and he seems like a complete gentleman. Thoughts and prayers go out to he and Sarah.

Eek.

Don't know him or the band but still want to extend my well wishes to both of them. Here's to a speedy full recovery. *drinks*

Unhappy

I know the band, saw them twice on the stage, but only with former singer Huw Lloyd-Jones
Very sorry to read that, all the best Rich and Sarah

According to bassist, Steve Dunn, Rich is currently in surgery. He was on a motorcycle and has severe internal injuries.

I am very saddened by this news. I did an interview with Also Eden some time ago (see here ) and they are very much one of the most promising acts in today's prog rock scene.

But Rich and Sarah's health is far more important than their music. Me too will pray for them.

Sarah is fine, she was not involved at all. All we know about the accident is that it took place near Raglan at about 9.30am on Tuesday; Rich swerved to avoid a cyclist, cameoff his motor-bike and smashed at high speed into some trafficbollards. A local doctor was on the scene very quickly and he was transferred to Abergavenny hospital in critical condition, with fracture in his neck, a fractured left shoulderblade, numerous rib fractures, some in several places, several fractures in his spine, and a broken thumb. His left leg was badly fractured in eight places and his left in five. His pelvis has serious damage. His chest and stomach had been crushed, and there was severe internal bleeding in the area of his lungs. Rich is still attached to life support but he is breathing for himself, they hope to take the machine away in the next 24 hours, this is great news to hear and a good step forwards.
Here's one more of Rich in his natural element: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dp-0XDXaCs0&feature=related

Not much change today, he is still on life support :( but stable with his breathing given the state of his ribs, we hope to see the tubes come out over the next few days.

Latest news:
Rich is still attached to life suppork but he is making good progress, once the doctors are happy that his chest infection is better the will work to remove the support tubes, good news is that they are taking away the two chest drains, it is hoped that they will not have to be replaced again! They have changed the sedative and he is slightly more with us in the day, we have given the nurse some music to play to him...

We have a tradition here in the UK to send get-well-soon cards to those who are seriously ill/hurt. When I was seriously ill some years ago, receiving some get well soon cards helped me tremendously.

Can I ask those of you who care to send Rich a card ? His address has been added by Moffedillen above, but I can repeat it here. It is Rich Harding, 130 Watley's End Road, Winterbourne, Bristol, BS36 1PP, United Kingdom.

Incredible that the human body can withstand so many injuries! Wishing him a speedy recovery.

I spotted the review by Tarcisio Moura and thought an update was in order.

The latest news from Also Eden is that Rich is feeling better........ and is now re-scheduling gigs on his laptop. But it is my understanding he is a long way from getting back to a stage.

If you read this Rich, we support you and all the best !! There is a lot of good reads on PA so spend some hours here laughing at/with us and our nerdy musings. Get well soon.

Hug

I do not know if you already knows this, but Rich is feeling great at the moment and I will be doing an interview with him and Also Eden before the release of their new album.

On a pitch black day where hell has fallen down on the top of us - and just before I go to bed for a good night sleep, that's a good piece of news to end this day.

I saw Also Eden on Thursday nigh.  They were supporting The Reasoning at The Fleece in Bristol.  Rich was up there on stage and in fine voice.  He still needs a stool to sit on while the band do the instrumental stuff, and he still needs crutches to get around, but he still gave a really great performance.

Not heard the band before, but on the strength of the gig I will be getting their last CD at the very least.
Debut Album FANTASY BRIDGE Available Now on CD
