Kamelot

Knife Fight Media is proud to announce that American/Norwegian metallers KAMELOT have formed the recording label Kamelot Media Group (KMG Recordings). Teaming up with DisManic Distribution via E1 and the brand marketing and promotions company Knife Fight Media, the premier KMG label release will be the North American debut of KAMELOT’S highly anticipated 9th studio album, “Poetry For The Poisoned”, on September 14, 2010.

KAMELOT is one of metal’s most unique, influential and prestigious acts to come along in decades. The formation of KMG Recordings seems a natural progression for the group. Guitarist Thomas Youngblood states, "We are in a very unique and fast changing era for the music world; I am very excited about the new venture of KMG in North America. We have a team of experienced and passionate people working with us on this new release, which will be another step for Kamelot and our fans." KMG Recordings turned to Gunter Ford, music veteran and founder of World Entertainment inc. and Knife Fight Media, who worked with them on their “Ghost Opera” and “The Black Halo” releases, to oversee and manage the new label. Gunter adds, “In these changing times, Knife Fight Media was created in order to provide marketing, promotion, product development and label management services for artists and labels in need of maximizing their Brand in a fast changing and challenging landscape of the North American Music Industry. I believe the “Kamelot Brand” is one of the leaders in its genre. I will be working closely with Thomas Youngblood, Roy Khan, DisManic and the Knife Fight Media team around this fantastic new release to grow “Poetry For The Poisoned” even beyond the level of success we experienced with their previous releases in North America.”

KAMELOT’s reputation among fans and media alike is marked by enthusiasm as well as esteem, with each of their eight studio albums surpassing its predecessor in terms of songwriting, production and commercial results. “Poetry for the Poisoned” promises to be the band’s most insightful and ambitious album to date.

“Poetry For The Poisoned”was recorded at Gate Studios in Wolfsburg, Germany with producers Sascha Paeth and Miro and features guest appearances by Simone Simons (EPICA), Gus G. (OZZY OSBOURNE, FIREWIND), Björn “Speed” Strid (SOILWORK) and Jon Oliva (SAVATAGE, JON OLIVA’S PAIN).

“Poetry for the Poisoned” will be available in three versions (Regular CD edition, Digipak CD with bonus DVD and 2LP gatefold vinyl edition). DVD bonus material: Kamelot Video “The Great Pandemonium”. Exclusive and In Depth Interviews with each Kamelot member. Kamelot “Pick and Play” for the song “The Great Pandemonium”. Kamelot “Poetry for the Poisoned “ Background Images. Exclusive video footage from Norway Rock Festival 2010. Bonus Song “House on a Hill”(uncut version).

KAMELOT will release “Poetry for the Poisoned” through earMusic/Edel in Europe on September 10, 2010. Marquee/Avalon Records will release in Japan.

Recordings for our new, yet untiltled album will start on September, 10th.
The album will contain nine songs plus intro and we want to fit the popular cliché and affirm hereby, that it will be the heaviest LANFEAR-album to date.

Of course we know that every band tells the same on their new material. Since we never did so, it seems as if you can really trust us.
We'd never lie to you...

More details as soon as we know them!

MANTICORA to release 7th full length album in September!

Longstanding Danish metal band MANTICORA have completed the recordings of their 7th full length album, “Safe”, at Jailhouse Studios, once again produced and mixed under the guiding hands of Tommy Hansen (known for Jorn Lande, Helloween, Pretty Maids a.o.).

Following the successful two-part “Black Circus” albums (released in 2006 and 2007 on now defunct Locomotive Music), “Safe” will see the band exploring a darker and heavier side of their songwriting than in recent years, and contrary to the simplicity of the album cover (a black/white cover only showcasing the band-symbol) “Safe” is filled with high-octane technical power-thrash.

The songs on “Safe”, including the 14 minute long title track (Manticora’s longest song to date):

1. In The Abyss Of Desperation
2. Silence The Freedom
3. Complete
4. From The Pain Of Loss ( I Learned About The Truth)
5. A Lake That Drained
6. Carrion Eaters
7. Safe
8. Embryonic Man (bonus track Japan)

Upon renewing their deal for Japan with Stay Gold / Art Union Records for the release of the album, Manticora have signed with US based label Nightmare Records for the rest of the World. The releases in Europe and North America have been set for September 20th and 21st respectively.

Also, Manticora has signed with Burrn! Music / Shinko Music Publishing for sub-publishing in Japan and with Enorm Music for sub-publishing in the rest of the World.

In September 2010 Manticora will embark on a headliner tour, presented by Rock Hard Magazine, throughout Europe. Support on the tour will come from Norwegian power/prog band Divided Multitude.

The dates confirmed so far (more to follow):
September 24 2010 - Markthalle, Hamburg, Germany
September 25 2010 - Turock, Essen, Germany
October 01 2010 - b*****d Club, Osnabrueck, Germany
October 02 2010 - The Rock Temple, Kerkrade, Holland
October 03 2010 - De Pul, Uden, Holland
October 04 2010 - Nouveau Casino, Paris, France
October 08 2010 - EventStage, Zizers, Switzerland
October 09 2010 – Mephisto Club, Alessandria, Italy
October 11 2010 - Spinnerei, Traun, Austria
October 12 2010 - Reigen, Wien, Austria
October 13 2010 - Randal Club, Bratislava, Slovakia
October 14 2010 - Crazy Mama, Budapest, Hungary
October 29 2010 - The Rock, Copenhagen, Denmark

Creation's End is very excited to sign a Worldwide deal for our upcoming debut album "A New Beginning" wth Sensory Records. After hearing many wonderful things about the label over the years there was no hesitation to become part of the Sensory family. A label that has released such great bands as Zero Hour, Spiral Architect, Circus Maximus and more must be the perfect fit for us, so we're thrilled to take this next step.

The official release date will be announced soon, but from what we know so far it looks like it will be a November release.

Vanishing Point

Hello everyone ,

This is kind of a hard letter to type because we like to focus on the positives and not get into negative thinking so we aren’t going to leave you guys guessing anymore with what’s happening with Vanishing Point .

Straight up after much thought and telling it like it is , we wish to let you all know that Tommy , Adrian and Jake are no longer members of Vanishing Point .

Sometimes musical directions and visions pull people in different directions and sometimes it brings people closer together musically , with Tommy and Adrian there was a growing gap in which they wanted to explore different avenues of music yet the rest of us wanted to keep writing melodic metal music , so after a while and much time passing it was evident that things weren’t going well in regards to writing the new album and where the rest of us felt that Vanishing Point should go.

The end result was that Tommy and Adrian chose to leave the band , on good terms ,we wish to point there is no bad blood or harsh words, put simply when it doesn’t work then why continue struggling and pushing friendships into the ground.

We sincerely wish the guys well in their creative pursuits, we know that whatever they come up with in the future will be great , we sincerely hope that you guys out there will support them in the future as you have for many years.

Now , what brings us forward , we want to let you guys know that we are not disbanding or shelving VP by any means, although things have slowed up and some of the new songs had to have some small parts rearranged , we are still going strong and we have just under an albums worth of songs , many close to completion, many still with much to do and many already completed musically.

We are planning in the near future to enter the studio and when we do we will let you guys know , so far the songs are sounding great ( we think anyways heh heh ) and they are the type of songs you would expect from Vanishing Point with some minor twists and turns musically .

We can’t say too much at the moment , yet we ask you to please be patient with us and understand that although things have slowed down a little for the timebeing , we are working on the next album right now and have been for the last few months .

In regards to new members, we have nobody as yet and to be honest have not done much searching , yet if anybody is interested to try out for VP then please forward on any info, bio’s etc to www.myspace.com/vanishingpointofficial <http://www.myspace.com/vanishingpointofficial> , [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> and www.myspace.com/chrispyvp <http://www.myspace.com/chrispyvp> , a hard work ethic, can do attitude is what we are looking for in a bass player and guitarist.

We are also toying briefly with the idea of someone who is into the visual side of things ie: internet site and myspace design to perhaps artistically forward some ideas onto us , as the Vanishing Point website is down for the moment , we wish to revamp it with something new so if this is you then get in touch with us.

Anyways , that’s all for the moment from us here , thanks for your understanding and your support as always .

Cheers
Silvio, Chris & Christian -Vanishing Point

Arjen Lucassen\s STAR ONE \"Victims Of The Modern Age\" - Release Date November 01st (InsideOut Music | EMI) Arjen Lucassen's STAR ONE "Victims Of The Modern Age" - Release Date November 01st (InsideOut Music | EMI)
Composer and multi-instrumentalist ARJEN LUCASSEN has firmly established himself worldwide as driving force in progressive rock. While best known for his rock opera project AYREON, the multi-talented Dutchman also regularly embarks on musical side projects, which explore different aspects of Lucassen's musical personality. As his previous project (GUILT MACHINE’s "On This Perfect Day" 2009) was a relatively relaxed and subtle affair, LUCASSEN's muses responded by urging him to record something loud, heavy and anything but subtle for this new release. Thus it was a perfect opportunity to launch his musical spacecraft towards the galaxy of bombastic sci-fi rock by revisiting his STAR ONE project.

The result is the album "Victims of the Modern Age," the follow-up to the STAR ONE debut album, “Space Metal” (2002). Compared to "Space Metal," the overall sound of "Victims Of The Modern Age" is darker, heavier, more guitar-oriented, and slightly less "spacey”. ARJEN has also raised the bar significantly when it comes to the album's sound: "I think it's my best sounding album to date; it's a huge difference compared to the first STAR ONE. For the guitars I spent weeks experimenting with different amps and settings in every combination imaginable -- and it was worth it. The drums sound fantastic, and the vocalists all outdid themselves, putting in even stronger performances than they did the first time around."

“Victims Of The Modern Age” will be released on Insideout Music | EMI in GAS on October 29th and in Europe on November 01st. With its stellar musicianship, strong melodies, meticulous production and compelling concept, STAR ONE "Victims of the Modern Age" is yet another exciting project from one of rock's great visionaries. Please check Arjens VIDEO MESSAGE presenting cast of lead vocalists and the concept of “Victims Of The Modern Age” featuring

Russell Allen (Symphony X)
Damian Wilson (Headspace, Threshold)
Floor Jansen (ReVamp, ex-After Forever)
Dan Swanö (Nightingale, Second Sky, ex-Edge Of Sanity)

ConFateArtwork2010

Good News Everyone! TesseracT's debut release will be on pre-sale from TUESDAY 31st AUGUST. Bad News Everyone, it is not the full length 'ONE'.

From 31/08/2010, "Concealing Fate", the 27 minute epic, will be available to order from the Century Media US Webstore . The band also aim to have the CD available for sale during the Devin Townsend Project Tour in the US and Canada, as well as from their own webstore.

Here's what the band had to say regarding this exciting news:
"It's obvious that some people are frustrated that we are not releasing "One" this year. But, unfortunately Century Media won’t put the album out right now. This is due to various marketing reasons, that we won‘t go into right here and now. However, we implored them to release something for you guys, since you’ve been waiting for so long to hear these new songs. And eventually, they kindly agreed. Thus, the Concealing Fate EP was created.

Deciding to put out just Concealing Fate was a bitter pill to swallow, but, we soon saw it as the only logical thing to do, especially given the circumstances. The upside is, that this is allowing us make the album really special, and gives us the time we need to add some extra content. Don't worry guys, the EP will be special too. Not only is it a limited edition, but it will come with a new shirt as well. This should be available for pre-order this week on Tuesday or Wednesday.

We're looking forward to seeing you all out on the road in the US and on our UK warm up gigs. We hope you guys can understand the situation we’re in, and really appreciate your patience and continued support."

The mixing of the album is finished and next up is the mastering. Marcus is working on the artwork while Thomas is contributing to it with great photos. We'll let you know about a release date once the label has provided us with one.
