Well, this album is weird even for Buckethead standards. It's mostly fancy drum and bass work with random shred breaks. Full of effects of course.

Forgot to list Eclectic in the genres I enjoy. Hi Dave! I haven't heard much of Buckethead's solo stuff. |

Hi Jon! I would highly recommend most of the solo stuff I've heard. For ambient work, I'd say Colma and Electric Tears. For more avant-based stuff, Day of the Robot, Cyborg Slunks, and Island of Lost Minds are good choices. Population Override is very 70s-ish and heavily funk-influenced. Monsters and Robots is a collaborative work with Les Claypool (also very funky of course) and Enter the Chicken is with Serj Tankian, and sounds like a more experimental System of a Down. I'm probably leaving off a couple other good ones, but that's a start. I think Day of the Robot is out of print, so you'd have to get a digital copy on Itunes, Amazon, etc if you wanted that. Buckethead is absolutely amazing. ![]() Nevermind. He was rejected. I wonder if he's been proposed to Eclectic though? His discography crosses so many different genres that he might have a place there. Edited by horsewithteeth11 - July 15 2010 at 22:07 |

I haven't found any Neo I much like at all, and I've not really latched onto any Crossover bands yet. Other than those two, I agree. |

That's unfortunate that he got rejected. He's not pure prog, but he definitely shows frequent flashes of proggyness. |

I have (or maybe had, not sure if I got rid of it or not) Enter the Chicken. I liked some of the tracks, but a lot of it didn't do much for me. I feel like I'd enjoy his other stuff more. |

I agree. But he's most certainly "progressive" from a musical perspective. |
