You can chalk it all up to the owners,agents and the players egos that say that they have to make more than the guy in the next locker. How can anyone say with a straight face that A-Rod should make more in a year than Mays,Aaron,Mantle or Ruth made in their entire careers?

George changed baseball for better or worse. Like other sports it is no longer a game but a business where the players are more interested in financial security than the glory of the game. He did make the Yanks a credible team again but at what cost?

This is not the game that I grew up with as a child. There are great players these days but there are greater egos as well.

Yeah, I will be the first to admit I was spoiled....in my younger days I was one of those who were legit pissed if they yanks didnt go to the world series. But remember when I was growing up, (lets say 1996-2003) the team that I was raised with

My dad would always say how they sucked in the 70s and 80s, the field fell somewhat into disrepair. It really does amaze to imagine it.
No doubt, George's impact, good and bad, is huge
