I've read this post five times and I am still no closer to understanding what it means. I'm able to grasp each letter individually, but together my mind can find no purchase.

An admin will move it to the appropriate section when they see it, I assume, they do that a lot. LOL

Just a minor mistake that changes the sense almost completely... Take "formers" as in "originators".

Sorry, Iīm not a native speaker. Iīve thought "former" as "founder". I donīt feel this gentle nuances.

From this list: The Beatles, Frank Zappa, Pink Floyd and The Who. Maybe Vanilla Fudge as well, but I know too little of them. Not mentioned co-founders: Procol Harum, The Collectors, The Moody Blues and The Nice.

Genesis, Yes and King Crimson should not be seen as founders or Prog Rock. In the Court of the Crimson King is just the first sign of maturity of both Symphonic and Eclectic Prog.

    The Who
    The Doors
    Iron Butterfly
    Frank Zappa
    Pink Floyd
    King Crimson
    Genesis
    Yes
Threw in Iron Butterfly for Inna Godda Da Vida honey.  I don't really know them that well. LOL

Agreed, would 'The Nice' be out of the question?

Those guys are the true founders. Their second album is the birth of prog.
