Topic: ___ On Limpid Form vs. Moonchild Posted: July 03 2010 at 21:47 |
Which of these songs infamous for their incredibly long and one-dimensional instrumental sections do you prefer? Moonchild by King Crimson or ___ On Limpid Form by Kayo Dot?
I prefer Moonchild as it's a nice song to just sit down and relax to. I absolutely hate ___ On Limpid Form myself. How about you guys?

Moonchild is one of the few KC tracks I'm familiar with, although definitely ___On Limpid Form for me. Amazing atmosphere on that track.
Doubt Kayo Dot have any chance winning this though.

Moonchild is a beautiful song. __On Limpid Form is kinda weird, but it's alright I guess.

__On Limpid Form for me too - great track. I don't get much from Moonchild, really.

Moonchild of course, sometimes I think this track is very underrated because the experimental section after the beatiful lyrics ... a gem!

Let's just say that the only two albums I've heard (ITWOP and LTIA) have really, supremely disappointed me, not really interested in putting more money into buying their albums at this point.

I feel that you would enjoy In the Court... more than those two, but who knows?
Anyways, I have yet to hear Dowsing Anemone with Copper Tongue, but badly want to... too bad I'm always a few dollars short . I hope to get it as soon as I can; I enjoy Choirs and the occassional Blue Lambency Downward.

Limpid Form for me, though I enjoy the latter part of Moonchild as well, at least to some extent. It was a wonderfully surreal experience walking home one sunny afternoon a while ago, birds are singing and flowers are blooming and I've got Limpid Form blasting loud in my headphones.

"Moonchild" is an excellent track, and I specifically love the section that many people seem to hate. it is not pointless noodling at all; on the contrary, you can hear the moonchild playing, throwing stones and do everything else that appears in the lyrics. Best track on the album, in my honest opinion.

^ I agree. The improv section does create a kind of visual for the listener; I've always loved it.
