Good news for those of you who live in the New York area:

From Marc Adler (writer of the Kohntarkosz blog):

"Well, here it is. Magma is playing in New York on September 20th, at the Highline Ballroom. And, they need to borrow some equipment. I will put more details on the Kohntarkosz blog later."

I shall post more when I know more.

It must be expensive to fly your own equipment over from France.

More information from the Kohntarkosz blog at http://kohntarkosz.blogspot.com/

"I just got a letter from Stella Vander. Magma will be performing at the Highline Ballroom in New York on September 20. The Highline is on 16th Street and 9th Avenue.

There is more important information that I will post in a few hours. I will need some assistance from some East Coast musicians to help Magma find some gear. (Zeeker, are you still alive?)

Stay tuned."

Egad!

When they said equipment I thought they meant amps/mics/cables/etc not key (and quite specific) instruments!

Despite my known personal aversion to live shows, my wife and I are going to see them on September 20th on NYC; I think it's something we shouldn't miss, especially since it's so close to our current home.

Anyone else going?

Not to this show.  I'll be seeing them on the 18th in Washington, DC though, with Raff and Micky.

Awesome! Are you seeing the other bands in that fest there? There's Miriodor and Univers Zero, and Jack Dupon and many more.

Unfortunately I can only make it down for a weekend, so I'm only going to see shows that are happening on the 18th.  I will get to see the Muffins as well, and three DC-area bands whose names I can't think of at the moment.  Plus, we get to meet Magma after the show. Shocked

If I could convince Penn State that going to see a ton of amazing bands was a valid excuse for missing a week of school, I'd try to be there longer. LOL

Well, even so, you're going to have a treat, enjoy, and say hi to Raf and Micky from me (those two are going to every show/fest possible LOL)

They do seem to be going to a lot of shows lately...I'm jealous! Cry

I'll be sure to tell them you said hi.  We'll have to compare setlists after your show. Big smile

Well, we're trying our best at leastWink! We had planned to go and catch Dungen tonight in Baltimore, but Micky's job threw a spanner in the worksCry... Hopefully we'll get to see them some time in the near future at one of those festivals!

Anyway, we got passes for the whole Sonic Circuits event, so we'll try to catch as many shows as we can. The Muffins smoked at ProgDay, and we can't wait to see them again. As to the 'big names', it goes without saying that we are totally stoked at the idea of seeing Magma, UZ and Miriodor. The latter's Avanti! was one of my rare top-rated ProgressoR reviews.
