Yeah!!! The Tigers beat the Pirates. Yo Ho Ho and a bottle of rum. It will be interesting to see how the rest of the weekend goes. The Tigers are in the middle of playing 22 straight games against sub-.500 teams, and so far they are 6 and 8 during this stretch. Not too good for a team that is hoping to contend for a playoff spot this year.

I remember just a scant few years ago when your Tigers were fighting for the AL Wildcard with the Yanks and always put up a tough fight. And can't win em all, even against bad teams.

Is it too soon for 2011 season to come? The Buccos are about done and have another sub .500 season at hand. The curse of the Bondsbino lives on.

The curse of poor ownership, management, scouting, etc, etc....
Refusing to consider selling the team to Mario was the last straw for me. I'm actively rooting against my hometown team from now on, well, at least until they are sold or the current ownership team dies off.
Go Yankees!

I'm liking the younger players that they have. I wonder how long it will be til they trade away McCutchen,Walker,Alvarez and Tabata?

I believe that all 3 Pirates' starting pitchers left the game with the lead this weekend and the Tigers did almost all of their damage against the bullpen. Cabrera hit a 3-run homer in the bottom of the 8th to win the game yesterday 4 to 2. The ball landed about 10 rows in front of my seats. Great weekend for the Tigers, but it is really frustrating how much their hitters have struggled against starting pitchers this year. I believe that the majority of the Tigers wins and offensive damage has come against other teams weaker middle relief pitchers. i.e. KC, Chicago, Cleveland, and now Pittsburgh. I guess that it is good that they seem to have a "never give up" attitude, and winning games late in the game is a mark of a champion. Just reference the number of games the Yankees and Red Sox win by outscoring their opponents in the 7th, 8th, and 9th innings.

So out of the blue Stacy's sister called and invited us to the Padre/Mariner game yesterday. It turns out they invited Chelsea Kings Brother to throw out the first pitch and Alison Amber's sister to bring the game ball out to the mound. So we were all on the field to watch! Then got to go up to the Owners box to watch the game in style. Right smack dab behind home plate. Saw an inside the Park HR by TG jr and a brilliantly pitched game by Hernandez. Not a fan of either but I will tip my cap to the Owner of the Padres for the free beer and hotdogs!

Sounds like a nice day at the ballpark. Felix is one of the few bright spots for the M's this year. The weather up here has basically sucked so I haven't been to a game yet.

Can you tell me where we're headin'?
Lincoln County Road or Armageddon.

^Thanks it was a lot of fun. My company owns a box at Staple's Center and in 7 years I have seen on Laker, One Clipper and one Kings game. What do you think the odds are we would have tickets available tonight for the unwashed masses like me? (Game 7 Lakers and Celtics)

So the Buccos have lost 12 in a row. Chalk it up to bad pitching and untimely hitting. I don't know. They bring up Alvarez and he hasn't gotten a hit yet.

Two wins in a row. Woot! The 2010 Buccos. Break this team up before they dominate baseball.
NOT!

Did you hear that the Pirates fired a Pierogie mascot because he posted something negative about the contract extensions to the GM and the manager on his Facebook page????
Great homestand for the Tigers, winning 8 out of 9, and coulda/shoulda/woulda won the 9th game if Miguel Cabrera had gotten a hit with 2 on in the 9th inning instead of striking out. Our all-world superstar is pretty great, unless the game is on the line, and then he becomes just OK.

Yeah, I read about that on Yahoo. They only make $100 a month for doing that. No great loss I suppose. The guy will end up on Letterman or Jimmy Kimmel's show. If there is a lesson to be learned is don't bad mouth your employer on a social networking website. Leave that for a fan forum where you can hide behind a fake ID.

It is pretty sad that they have time to monitor a Pierogie's Facebook page, but don't have the time to actually create a competitive team.

They gotta have something to do. They can't be counting the gate receipts from the previous day. That would take all of 15 minutes.
