I've spent much more time around MMA than I should have in the last few months! LOL

Once the jazz site comes I will officially have NO life. TongueGeek

I noticed MMA is FAR less popular than PA (there are times when PA's forum is crowded while I am the only one logged in on MMA's forum).

I am waiting for a classical music archives !

Same here, but give MMA some time. There are MUCH more metalheads out their than progheads.... it will grow. Wink

Status update:

MMA is currently (last 3 weeks) experiencing a major drop in traffic from GOOGLE  search results. It's an un-explainable issue that PA dealt in the past too. But as far as I remember, time is the solution. Every indicators points too that we should get back to an increasing traffic line soon. Last positive stats early MAY 2010 were 2000 visitors per day. Let's all be patient. Things will settle soon.

2000 uniques is excellent for a start-up! How many unique visitors does PA have on a regular basis?

I've experienced this as well.... (actually to be honest, I more or less stopped posting there and visit quite a bit less of late, precisely because nothing new is happening in the forum and I ended up turning down the collab offer M@X was proposing).... I thought it was growing nicely, but lately it's been stagnating.... but then again Lucas, if you remember the halcyon days of PA, it wasn't a very linear growth either.....
I also stopped importing my PA reviews into MMA, because they're written from a prog POV, and I'm incapable of reviewing from a metal POV (so I won't write new ones for MMA), partly because I'm not a metalhead anymore.... Free specific time for MMA is another issueCry

But most likely this slump is temporary, because there is absolutely no reasons MMA doesn't trounce PA4s numbers.... too much potential in metal fans circles....

the only thing that's unknown to me is that there might be other similar metal sites that have the same goals and are probably more ancient....

The Jazz Archives??... I'm all for it, but ..... before moving that far.... why not a Rock archives or a Blues-rock/Blues Archives??... it makes more sense .....

let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword

The metal scene is very much based on networking and ingrown scepticism to anything new.

I would suggest that MMA get in touch with already existing websites and the already thriving metal scenes and network towards them. For example the Norwegian scene where there is plenty of people who want to contribute, but who has no proper outlet for their creativity. Get these involved and some of the more established names as active contributors in MMA.

I wonder why PA forum has in average about 20-30 logged members and 100 guests :-/ this simply is something I cannot understand, so many unregistered people.
There's a point where "avant-garde" and "experimental" becomes "terrible" and "pointless,"

No names....just the general grumbling one hears from time to time about how the site is going downhill, doesn't live up to its glory days, blah blah blah.  Rubbish of course.  Wink
