I'm kind of sad that Peter is probably never going to read my response to his incredibly condescending post in the teenagers thread. I'm such a drama whore. :(

if you own a sodastream i hate you

Either early today or sometime yesterday. You fixed it that time too.

No, he's a real news presenter on the BBC.  I've seen him before.

Matt/Scott, you both like science fiction and comedy, correct?  You'd probably each enjoy the novels, the whole 5 part trilogy (and short mini-story, "Young Zaphod Plays it Safe" are available in a nice all-for-one edition (The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide) which I bought for around $20 a good while back.

I didn't have a problem with any of them, really.  I'll admit that Mos Def wasn't exactly how I envisioned Ford Prefect (indeed, going into the movie I was expecting David Dixon to be back, and Dixon will always be how I visualize Ford while reading the books).  I thought Sam Rockwell pulled off Zaphod really well, and Martin Freeman was pretty much amazing as Arthur.  Zooey pulled off an effective Trillian, Bill Nighy's Slartibartfast was interesting, etc.  It may not have been a masterpiece, but it's still a pretty enjoyable movie for me.

I always imagined Zaphod's two heads to be arranged differently.  I haven't seen the original film though... was it like that in that version?

And no, Zaphod was annoying.

Besides, I think automatically of the characters being British.
In the book it's implied they're next to each other, but that is technically very difficult to impossible. Somebody claimed that compromise was actually Adams' idea.

It was OK, but not that good. A lot of people thought the intro was the best part, and it was certainly the part that was actually creative independent from the book, but I thought it was just annoying.

Very difficult to impossible?  They pulled it off (albeit not very convincingly LOL) in the 1981 miniseries, I don't see how it could be so difficult now.

I know it's real, but it sounds like something they'd say on The Onion.

I can't read it until I'm able to buy it, that is my best bet. I highly doubt my local library has it.

They might, I think even my high school library had a copy and they generally don't have anything further than a collection of Stephen King as far as fiction goes.

You might be surprised and find it at your local library, or at least be able to order it and have it delivered to your local library.

That thread is full of dumb.

I don't really look in the Prog Music Lounge forum anymore, or try not to, because I keep getting reminded that I like a kind of music half of which's listeners are full on socially retarded.

Then I make this face:
