Going to my first Blue Jays game in around 3 years/seasons as I've lived too far from Toronto for around 2 years. It will be my first time seeing them play the Yankees. I'm going on Sunday afternoon, but I don't know where I'll be sitting yet.

Nother loss to the blue jays. Can't say it wasn't hard fought though, 4 hours and 14 innings.
Funny, AL games are supposed to take forever, but the 9 innings were done in only 2 and a half hours! Quite a pitchers duel. And the AL East is looking really damn tough this year, tougher than usual! |

Baseball is a funny game...Full of quirks, rituals and givins'. I mean wearing the same unwashed pair of drawers for the whole season...What!!
Its hard for me to think about expanded replay in MLB....I just can't do it, even though it makes sense in some situations. At the end of the day I think the players are living with the calls.......With 162 games a few blown calls in the grand scheme of things should not make/break a season.
That being said the WS may be a different story....up for discussion in my book.
I just don't think owners and managers will vote for it.....ever.

Just came back from the Skydome (or Rogers Center). Eventhough the Blue Jays blew it, I had a good time. I may have to go to another game later this season.

By all accounts that was a really good game yesterday in Toronto. 'Tis a shame that the Blue Jays ended up losing.

They could have won every game against both the Yanks and Rays last week if not for those late inning meltdowns.3 for 6 instead of 6 for 6.At least their competing well against these two teams this year. I'm going to go down for a game this year(promised my son).Haven't gone for a couple of years. |

Steven Strasberg lived up to the hype today, striking out 14 batters in 7 innings and walking none while giving up only two runs for the victory, very impressive.

Galarraga gave up a single to the first batter, Juan Pierre, last night to remove any drama from the game. i.e. pitching consecutive perfect games. As usual, the Tigers could do very little against future Hall of Famer Gavin Floyd, but fortunately they came up big with 5 runs off of Matt Thornton in the 7th inning plus a Carlos Guillen solo homer off of Thornton's replacement to pull of a rare win at the new Comiskey Park (or whatever it is called). It is going to take every victory to try and keep up with the Twinkies this year.

Well, last year I remember hearing about some kid in the Nats farm system who threw 100 mph.
A year later, apparently there was some hype about him ![]() Well, major league debut. 7 innings, 14 strikeouts, 2 earned runs, no walks and win. Touched 100 mph at times. With so much easing in young pitchers kind of crazy to see him come out and just start like that! Of course who knows what'll happen next time, but damn what a debut indeed! Oh, he will be great
Expect the Strasburg/Zimmerman* combo at the front end of Washington's rotation to be the best 1, 2 punch in baseball for years to come. Maddux/Glavine but with that power pitching sex appeal the chicks just dig.
*Don't sleep on Jordan Zimmerman; he's the real deal and will be ready to go next year

nice to see people going apesh*t about baseball here in DC. The ratings for the game here were like... a 1000% higher than the normal televised game haha. Just read something interesting... the Nats will recoup the whole of his 15 million dollar contract in 20-30 home starts |

Well to be fair, WILL be great.....assuming everything goes smoothly. One injury and could be done. OK, done being a stickler, yes if he stays healthy and continues to develop, (one game doesnt make him a pitcher yet) he will be great. As for outsiders going apesh*t about DC baseball, well it's exciting. Not often something like this happens. |

I'm not surprised.....none of these teams have even seen him pitch before or hit against him. Albeit he is excellent, should come down to earth in a few more starts.
I'm glad for Nationals tho, they are putting together a very formidable roster.

Congrats to Andy Pettitte, on his 200th win as a Yankee! Not to mention his 237th win overall.
