I've met very few girls in real life who remotely like any form of prog.  I know a few girls who like Opeth and Tool and one who likes Rush... but that's about it.

My friend (a girl) in 6th grade introduced me to Rush, which first got me into prog. Another friend (a guy) in 8th grade introduced me to Yes. Overall, most of my friends who listen to prog are guys, but there are still some girls too.

Lucky. I have male friends who listen to Madonna. And the sad part is... they're not even gay. O_o

Most of my friends in real-life are girls.  In fact, two of my best friends I'd consider were girls. Wink

I have a male friend who watches Glee religiously. He is straight.

My friends overall are about half and half. My best friend is a guy (I'm dating him), but the rest of my closest friends are all girls.

It must be an American thing...

I know gay guys who like Madonna and Glee... but no straight ones.

I'm actually embarrassed by even having heard of Glee.  ARGH!

Yep. He's going to college a 13 hours' drive away next year, but we're staying together. Now for me to decide whether to follow him there the next year or not...

I'm not remotely gay in any way but I also have no issues with hugging men... I do it deliberately sometimes 'cause I know guys don't like it. LOL

Oh how nice!  I gave up on babysitting about two years ago, and damn! it feels good. The ugly part is saying no without being nasty. I suck at that.Confused

I have no friends that like Prog, but I'm okay with that.  But I do argue with one of my friends every once in a while over who is the better singer: Peter Hammill or Cyndi Lauper.LOL

It's a tough decision.

I find people split up when they go to College/University to due to distance and also because you tend to meet other people who you somehow find much more your thing.

Not in every case though.

Then, of course, if you were to go to College together, it could also cause issues.
