Topic: Next Rush Album Title Revealed Posted: May 25 2010 at 16:10 |
Anthem/Atlantic recording group Rush has announced the
upcoming release of their eagerly anticipated new single. "Caravan" --
which will be featured on the legendary band's forthcoming album,
"CLOCKWORK ANGELS" -- will be available at all DSPs on June 1st and
serviced to radio simultaneously.
"Caravan" will be bundled with an additional new album track,
entitled "BU2B." Both tracks were recorded earlier this year in
Nashville with Grammy Award-winning producer Nick Raskulinecz (Foo
Fighters, The Deftones), who previously collaborated with Rush on 2007's
critically acclaimed "SNAKES & ARROWS." Rush will return to the
studio to resume recording after the completion of the upcoming "Time
Machine Tour," with plans to release their 20th studio album, "CLOCKWORK
ANGELS," in 2011. ...

It seems awfully early to be announcing the title of an album due for release in 2011...unless it's going to be a concept album....

Yeah... it's been 3 years since S&A, but if it will be a great album, I can wait.

Aww, and here I was hoping it would be called Rush to the Outhouse. ;)
Seriously, Clockwork Angels ain't bad; A Clockwork Orang-utan is better (but I bet it's been done before).

I'm not so thrilled by the title, but as long as the music is good, I'll get used to it.

I have read somewhere that it should be a concept-album? And i am starting to dream about their best progressive period. But i don't think it's going to be like the old days.

They should wait till 2012 then make a concept album. They could call it 2012.

^^That would be a great idea. Good marketting point, too.
Well, I look forward to the new album. The title is fairly uninspiring imo, but that's hardly a deal breaker.
I also cant wait to see 'Beyond the lighted stage' It'll have to be on DVD, though. The pop corn & Sprite multiplexes round here only show the biggies. We have one small arthouse cinema, which is apparently going to be showing some film about punk soon; probably because it was culturally so 'important' but they will NOT be showing the Rush film. I've checked.

I'm going to see the film at the Printworks in Manchester on June 7th. Know a few people who went to the premier in Tribecca NYC and it is suposed to be surprisingly good. Lots of unseen footage.
