Ah, alright. The cover's confusing, then, it looks like it says Amon Düül II there. I still haven't checked out any of the British AD albums (or the original AD, for that matter). I feel like I need to. Thanks for the clarification!

the "original" Amon Düül never recorded an album; they split up into two halves, one of which simply kept the name and the other named themselves Amon Düül 2

Ah, to clarify I meant the one which kept the name and recorded several albums. Paradieswärts Düül is the one I've thought about starting with, as it seems to be the one which people generally enjoy most of that group's albums.

yes, a good start. don't start with "Psychedelic Underground"; it is a horrible album, but of enormous historic value. it was the first album by a German rock band, and it was so very bad that all the other bands around which had suffered from an inferiority complex were cured of it; they could hardly be worse than that

I'll probably check that one out eventually, both for completion's sake and because you've made me curious now.

In no particular order

I'm not sure. In The Court Of The Crimson King and Animals are both up there. Foxtrot is a contender. I also love Marillion and Spock's Beard covers.

I love reading what Storm wrote about that photo it after he took it. He said it was something like, 'ordinary cow, ordinary feild, ordinary camera, extraordinary photo'.
It's just very pastoral Floyd.
