I'm going to have to Netflix Platoon one of these days too. Have you seen Generation Kill? It's a little terrifying if it's actually true, and if we didn't kill quite that many people accidentally, then it's still an excellent portrayal of what it's like to be these people in the Marines. Ziggy in Iraq was killing me the whole time, it's wonderful that there are people actually like that.

Seinfeld is right-- the ST bridge is the ultimate male fantasy: sitting in a chair in front of a big screen TV eating whatever you like while soaring through space

You should, although you should watch The Wire first you haven't, that is a truly first rate TV show, although I didn't really get into the first season. But the second season is one of the best shows ever filmed.

I'll have to see that if it is that highly rated by you. But then again my idea of one of the best shows ever is Firefly.

Yeah, FMJ is much better than Apocalypse Now and A Clockwork Orange. Paint It Black over the credits was a little tacky (even though it's the only good song The Rolling Stones ever wrote).
I like FMJ, I'm not sure about where it rates on my list of Vietnam-era films though. I always enjoy the first half of it more, the psychology of it interests me.
Man, qualitative data research sucks, but lecturers go dizzy with delerium when you present it in a final research document.
