Two bands, seemingly wandering in the desert in 1991.  Your choice?  I do love the way Enter Sandman slowly reveals its riff, but that's just the dirty old man in me.

Can you tell me where we're headin'?
Lincoln County Road or Armageddon.

Definitely not my favourite albums, but I´ve got a soft spot for Of Wolf and Man and Wherever I may Roam. I´ve had Roll the Bones for 5 or 6 years now and it never succeeds in making any kind of impression on me. The bland taste of sticking your tongue out the window.

1991: Nirvana rules the scene.
Hip hop enters its golden era.
Post-rock gems such as Talk Talk Laughing Stock and Slint Spiderland also from this year.
Definitely one of my prefered years in music.

I have to confess to a sneaky fondness for Metallica's black album. As I was 29 in 1991 I can hardly claim it was a formative listening experience in my adolescence (2112 was, though) but for some reason I've always enjoyed it.

I make no apologies, this is easy for me, Roll the Bones is one of my favorite Rush albums.

I'm not voting as I know none of those albums.  My favorite was Adrian Belew's Inner Revolution.
Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

No vote. I don't feel attracted to thrash or death metal at all. On the other hand, the poor Roll the Bones after a mediocre Presto really turned me off.

The Black Album. I'm not very fond of Roll The Bones. If it had been its succesor Counterparts then I would have had a more difficult time in my choice.

Metallica, all the way man! Oh...such a good year to headbang! Rawks
Just think,
Pearl Jam releases Ten,
Nirvana releases Nevermind,
Ozzy releases No More Tears,
Metallica releases the aforementioned Black Album...
How brilliant is that?!

The Black Album is a HUGE disappointment after their first four classic thrash metal albums, but Roll the Bones isn't that great either. I guess I'll go with The Black Album...
