Great list. I hate to be cliche, but I went with The Shawshank Redemption. One of my top five films of all time, too. I also love Life of Brian and Blazing Saddles too.

I'm going to go ahead and be controversial and say that I think The Shawshank Redemption is overrated. Yes I said it. It's always seemed pretentious to me, but I'm pretty sure I'm alone there. So out of this list I'm going with Life of Brian.

I am of the opinion that Wayne's World 2 is about one-fifth as good as its predecessor. Had you picked WW1, I probably woulda voted for it. As it stands, though, I'll rack up the vote for Life of Brian

Sleuth is far too good a film not to have any votes so I voted for that (I'm assuming it's the great Caine-Olivier original not the inferior remake with Jude Law).
Life of Brian is good but over-rated IMO - Holy Grail is much funnier.

Sleuth for me. The original that is and not the inferior Michael Caine and Jude Law re-make.

Went with Life of Brian. No Mel Brooks fans here it seems.

Had it been Wayne's World I I would've most certainly chose it. Now I don't know what to do.

Could someone explain what's so special about The Shawshank Redemption? It's an enjoyable movie with an interesting story and great acting, but what is it that makes it the greatest film (or one of the greatest films) of all time?

hear, hear.. it's the greatest movie ever made if you haven't seen enough movies yet it's not even close to the greatest, it's not even in the top 10, or 20 for that matter.. gimme a break

I love Shawshank Redemption, it's maybe one of my favorite movies, and I love Morgan Freeman he's such a great actor.

I guess The Fifth Element. Quirky, unique sci-fi.
