I'd love to see a new supergroup of Emerson, Livgren (of Kansas fame) and Palmer.
Now that would be a prog rock album.

Any reason why they couldn't tag team or harmonize? |

They could do an instrumental album. I like their intstrumental works the best. Have you listed to Kerry's One of Several Possible Musiks instrumental album? He is supposed to release a second instrumental album soon. |

You mean you've never heard Emerson's incredible vocals on songs such as "I'm a Man" from his Inferno soundtrack?

Interesting idea. By the way, in case you didn't know, Livgren had a stroke that has made it difficult for him to play the piano with both hands at the same time, so I wouldn't count on a new album any time soon. However, forget vocals. Who would play bass? |

Livgren, like any good guitarist, has played bass on some of his solo works. For a live show, they'd have to get someone.

Boring- organ bass pedals have almost zero dynamics compared to a bass guitar.
But if you're going to go through the trouble to hire someone, why not make it a proper foursome? If you got Billy Greer (current Kansas bassist), you'd have a proper bassist and a damned good vocalist. |

You only asked who would play bass, you didn't ask for a great bass player, did you?
Anyway, who said that organ bass pedals are boring?:

Yes, that woman is fabulous on organ all around. I've seen that video too.
That's not what I meant by "dynamic." You can't bend bass notes on an organ. You can't run just the bass notes through effects (without some manner of engineering). You can't pop or slap an organ's bass pedals (I guess you could, but it'd be weird ). What I meant was that a bass guitar offers a range of sounds not available to merely playing notes (which is effectively all the bass pedals of an organ will allow). And one more thing- Emerson's not gonna stay seated the whole show. Edited by Epignosis - April 25 2010 at 16:04 |

Yeah, I know and I agree, but I'll repeat: 'You just asked who would play bass'
