Topic: Favorite Media Player Posted: April 17 2010 at 17:56 |
What is your favorite media player application for your progressive collection? I seem to always return to to iTunes, but I have spent time with winamp and foobar 2000. Winamp used to be a small application, but it is now about the same as iTunes.

Winamp. I have a strong dislike for iTunes. I also like Foobar but don't use it too much.

Winamp is the one I use the most by far (music mainly). Then Media Player Classic for DVD reproduction...

Media Player on Windows 7 corrupted the meta data of some of my MP3 files. It is nice, but I do not trust it. I think iTunes is the most trustworthy, but it is a bloated pig that installs a bunch of extra stuff that I do not want.
If you use Winamp, state if you purchased the Pro version or just use the free player. I love how iTunes burns MP3 CDs for the car, and I would have to buy Pro winamp to have the same burning speed.

Winamp(free). I use it the most, but I use VLC sometimes and I use WMP for ripping CDs and watching DVDs.

^ Thanks Dean.
I use Zune software......I love the band picture collage that scrolls across my screen while playing music. You don't get all artists...but most.

Winamp Pro, has everything I need. Plus, with the cPro skins it looks nice on the desktop too.

I use Winamp now because my new computer's Windows Media Player don't play my Napster tracks, damnit. Anyhow now I'm suitably impressed by Winamp and believe I prefer it. I used Windows Media Player in its various incarnations since I was a little boy. Say regularly from when I got my own computer until March? 2002-2010. Edit: the free winamp by the way

are there any good players that aren't memory intensive like iTunes but have good features and compatibility? I definitely want something that keeps a "library" of your songs like itunes or WMP
I don't want winamp

I still use WMP but I have added the flac codec to it so I can play my lossless files.

Windows Media 11.................................mp3 format suits the best. I find iTunes invasive and until I own a Mac...............

I don't like any of them - they all do things I don't want them to do and none of them are as intuitive as they like to think they.
