No. But I may upload it if I get good enough. I've also tried to teach myself the opening of "Firth of Fifth." There is sheet music for the song, but it has been butchered so badly you really can't call it a faithful transcription.

Know how you feel. Tried to work out an all-guitar arrangement of Cletus Awreetus-Awrightus and had to change roughly half the notes as they were wrong

So far "Loki" is my favorite song on the Hox Vox album.

I just listened to Espers II twice through
I like it, but it's not as good as Espers. The beginning is a little weak (the first 4 songs seem a bit bland to me), but it gets progressively (no pun intended) better throughout, up to the amazing closer "Moon Occults the Sun." That one and "Mansfield and Cyclops" are my favourites, at least for now. Overall, I don't think this album is as interesting or attention-grabbing as I found their first one; maybe it will improve with more listens. Dead King has an interesting synth (or something) that sounds like dial-up internet tones.
I think I will get Espers III and see how that one is. It definitely has cooler album art.

Holy sh*t, Evan Parker is playing in Baltimore on the 18th! I think listening to him the night before Peter Brotzmann might be too much, but he doesn't come around here very often so I'm going to go anyway.

Nice. I haven't heard of Evan before, but I'm assuming he's another free jazzer?

Yeah, he's essential free improvisation, although I only own his latest album at the moment, which is great, although probably not as aggressive as you would think from listening to him on Youtube. That's why I love Peter so much, he's been pouring out pure sonic rage for 40 years straight and he's not showing any signs of stopping. He's most famous for playing Machine Gun with Peter Brotzmann (and others) in 1968 and playing a lot with Derek Bailey, although the latter may be famous in a large part because they had an extremely public falling out. At some point Derek said that he couldn't play with him anymore and they had a messy thing of splitting up the rights. One of their very early albums, Topography of the Lungs, got an infamous reputation because Evan wasn't allowed to reissue it until Derek's death (which is a demand Evan says he doesn't understand), and you know how music nerds confuse scarcity with quality.
I've pretty much abandoned RIO/Avant/Zeuhl, and there's still so many albums from so many artists that I haven't heard yet.
Also, is anybody else getting annoyed with eMusic? I keep downloading albums and getting burned with f**king 150 kb/s bitrates. And then a good chunk of the time I can't pirate a better version because it's too obscure.
And National Health is soooooo booooooring. At least I only paid eMusic credits to be reminded why I only own one other fusion album recorded by not-Miles Davis.

Ah, OK. I still haven't gotten into too much free jazz past some introduction into the pioneers. As for eMusic, I've been annoyed with it since I realized that for some longer songs you end up not getting the full thing...for example, the version of MDK on Opera de Reims is missing over 10 minutes! I'm never paying them again to get incomplete versions of songs. I like National Health.

To be fair, though, that's only a problem I've seen with Magma. KA is also missing 15 minutes, but if you complain they'll give you the download back and I've never had that happen with anything else. I'm not a bitrate Nazi, but I have trouble believing that a 150 kb/s MP3 sounds the same as a 320.
I was asleep at 4:30pm today.
