I ordered the first two regular studio albums right after California came.  I think if I'd heard either of the first two first I might not have been in such a hurry to get either of the other two that would have been remaining, if you know what I mean.  I like them all, but for that reason, I'll put California at the top.  
Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

The debut for me...super eclectic album with great humor and it's pretty much the album that got me into prog. (or at least the one that got me looking in that direction)
