I agree with your Rush and Yes choices whole heartedly.  Hemispheres (imo) is the most superior Rush album.  I also really like Moraz in Yes, so Gates of Delirium would be my favorite album from Yes.

However, I would choose ELP's Tarkus by a very small margin over Suppers Ready, Close to the Edge, and 2112.  Tarkus is just nasty.

Let's just say that I doubt that your love for Pink Floyd's Meddle has that much to do with the first five compositions on that album. Wink

Damn, there goes my best kept secret !
Supper's Ready is a close second.

Supper's Ready by a narrow margin over CTTE and Thick as Brick, with Echoes also right up there.

Voted for "Tarkus", which deserves a lot more love than it usually getsWink. However, I could have as easily voted for CTTE, TAAB, "Echoes" or "Nine Feet Underground". "In Held 'Twas in I" is also a great song, while I am not familiar with Triumvirat's opus. Then, I don't really care for either "2112" or "Supper's Ready".

Gates of Delirium would have been my choice, but I'll go for CTTE...

My vote goes to In held twas in i. I'm in the mood for the symfonic sound of Procol Harum.

Great list!

I didn't know "In Held Twas in I" was by Procal Harum. Fantastic, one learns something new every day.

^Yeah, I didn't know it either before actually looking through the liner note of Transatlantic's SMPT:e album! LOL
It was then that I made it my goal to actually hear the original which turned out to be an even better performance... it's mind-blowing to realize that it was released in 1968!

Close To The Edge is just sublime! Although if you'd given me a KarnEvil 9 option instead of Tarkus I'd have gone for that 'cause it is the most epic of prog epics in my opinion.

I love all of those songs almost equally, but I felt that In Held Twas In I is the most underappreciated on this list with less than 3% of the vote, so I voted for that.

For the lyrics, it's between #1 Supper's Ready and #2 Thick as a Brick
For the music, it's between #1 Close to the Edge and  #2 Thick as a Brick
I say the nod goes to Thick as a Brick
Cool
