I agree Eddy, Amon dull II is a major band "Dance of the lemmings" is a masterpiece. You forget also Between, The cosmic jokers, Manuel Göttsching: Inventions For Electric Guitar |

Actually,I think it's fine that Tangerine Dream were left out because I don't think they have ever belonged in the Krautrock bag and I know that Edgar Froese has always deplored the term and felt that it was far too narrow to encompass TD's music. I'm entirely in agreement with him in this.

Have we done this poll before??????????????????????????
The first poll had important omissions but was forgivable and probably fun, a second one with omissions is careless. |

Edgar Froese is my God. If it was physically possible I would demand to have his babies.

The cosmic jokers are space rock IMO. Tangerine Dream - space rock. Amon Duul - space rock. So the three bands i "forgot" i happen to listen to and consider to be space/psychadelic. so chill folks, especially you Eddy, dear god.

Hmmm....they are Krautrock acording to the Prog archives no? I to would have voted Amon Duul II or Tangerine Dream too, ooooh are you trying to get Agitation Free lots of votes by subliminally putting them twice?

Yes, also Sergius Golowin/Lord Krishna von goloka, forgetting the painful lyrics, the music is fantastic. |

So you make a distinction between space rock and Krautrock? For me Krautrock is simply german prog. |

What are we discussing here ?, Krautrock or Kraut Prog Rock ?. If the later is the case then two names are unforgivenly absent at the poll. Triumvirat and Eloy. But being a good sport, I'd vote Agitation Free. Tangerine Dream shouldnt be in such a poll since their "rock" orientation is not their main feature in their music. (Allthough Froese is a master with the fender guitar, far better than most guitar players!) _________ Lunar |

Not really - there is much space rock in so-called "krautrock", e.g. Eloy. There is no real describable difference in sound, just geography - which is why I dislike the term. Can are one of the best bands of all time.
